There is an item coming up for bids there that tickles my fancy, and I was wondering if there might be anyone available who could go preview it and/or haul it off the base and/or bring it at least part way in my direction?
If you're willing/able to help, shoot me a PM.
Much oblidged,
Don
Perhaps I'm using the wrong keywords, but a search came up fruitless.
Just wondering if it is possible to run this combo and recreate the Canadian MLVW look?
I suspect that these wheels are too wide to be used with this particular style/size of tire, but I wanna hear it from the horses...
This is probably a long shot, but I found three s788 shelters in New York and would like to see if there's any way that I could get one down here at a NON bank-breaking rate.
The S788 is 102" x 84" x 71" (L x W x H) weighs ~500 pounds.
If you can help, either reply to this thread or send me a...
So I was playing around researching the idea of an S788 on an M103, and I stumbled onto this little gem:

Has anyone here ever seen or have one of these units? I'm guessing that one might be a bit...
Not only for letting me ride with you and back to the rally last weekend, but also for giving me some good advice and ideas for my other projects AND giving me a lift back to Winslows to pick up my "new" Deuce today. Having good people in this area makes my relocation much more tolerable.
(And...
...And I ended up leaving a deposit on the nicest A2 in his inventory.
What can I say? I thought he was a durned good salesman yet NOT high pressure in the least. Very pleasant to deal with and a true Southern Gentleman if ever there was one, IMHO.
Going back to pick it up this weekend...
Is this how the brakes are set up on the 939-series trucks? I know the acutators have a longer stem.
I just thought it was a well done presentation that was worth sharing.
ODdave is buying a set of M101a2 trailer springs from me. Problem is, they are heavy, and I do mean HEAVY! And I'm afraid that Brown or White Santa would want an arm, a leg, and a first born to get them up there. Not only that, they would need to be in some mighty stout packaging to make it...
Oh man do these things got me ticked off! aua I was able to remove one of them by hand. One is busted off flush with the top of the bed, the rest won't even wiggle, let alone pull out. Tried using a slide hammer with a lag screw on the end, it just pulls right out of the wood. Tried...
I found an M813 that is for sale in the Charlottesville, VA area that I am interested in, and I would like for someone who is knowledgeable about those trucks and lives close by to take a look at it, either with or for me.
Feel free to shoot me a PM if you're willing/able to help.
Thanks,
Don
I was just wondering if there is anyone up that way who is knowledgeable about the 800-series trucks who would be willing/able to check one out, either with or for me? Feel free to shoot me a PM if you can help out.
TIA,
Don
I did a search on here but couldn't come up with a definitive answer. I have an a2 from Bragg, and an a3 from Lejeune. The a2's bed is all rusted out in front and my plan is to shorten it up to the second "rib" for the stake pocket right before the fenders and mount it on the rear of my '61 IHC...
I've been researching this for months now and think that I have a general idea of how I want to go about it, but I just though I'd see if any of you guys have a writeup and/or some pics that I could take a look at.
Any and all help is, of course, immensely appreciated.
Don
Hey guys,
Richard "wreckerman893" has what's left of an old IHC crew cab that I am interested in, so I wanted to see if anyone might be headed this way from his neighborhood in the near future (Sand Rock, AL to just north of Raleigh, NC). He did say that there would be several guys from this...
I've searched all around in this forum as well as a few other places and found a few, but I just wanted to inquire as to any others out there that I haven't yet seen. Post 'em if ya got 'em! [thumbzup]
BTW I plan on using the bed from an M101a2 on my 1961 IHC Travelette. I bought the trailer...
OK so our winter beater died a painful and unexpected death a few weeks ago, and the wife INSISTS on having a 4x4 vehicle of some sort on hand. The more I shop around looking at other trucks and jeeps the more appealing I'm finding these babies simply for there sheer "bang for your buck" factor...
Hi all. Just joined up because I am contemplating the acquisition of a Deuce (more about that later), and give a shout out to any Michiganders who might be here!
Don
