My question is what was wrong with it in the first place that he let it sit for three years. I'm guessing it was something costly so he never repaired it and let it sit. Looks to be in good shape though.
Exactly right. I have to drive 4 hours to the closest MV scrap yard and there are only a few military bases and they rarely have auctions. Result: higher prices due to limited supply. Sucks for me.......
Sorry missed the last post before I responded. They derive power from 2 twelve volt batteries wired in series. I've used Walmart batteries in the past and had no issues but would recommend better for long term use..

By NE Florida I assume you're in the Jacsonville area. Check GL they had a couple deuces in the Jacksonville area last time I checked. Read some of the tips posted on this site prior to bidding on GL before bidding though.
I spoke with Delco Remy. They advised the 39MT is the civilian version and is not water proof. The 42MT is supposed to be the military version and waterproof.

Does any body have any experience with the Delco Remy 42MT starter. My old Leece-Neville is unable to be rebuilt and I saw that these Delco-Remy starters come with a 3 year warrant for around $300. They are supposed to be water proof and mil-spec. I like that I can buy one from a local...
I've seen other video on this truck and talked to the guy about it. It's a nice 4 link suspension under it but is strictly a toy for mud holes. Still pretty neat though.
Welcome. Just be concious that it's not just about what will fit but more importantly what the engine can turn and the brakes can stop. I've got 49" Michelins on mine with no problems so far.
Welcome. Alot of the A2 or A3 debate comes done to cost and preference. I'm starting a bobbed A2 build this weekend. I prefer the M35 front springs for the bob over the M105 but once again it's prefernce.
