Alright looks like I got my answer. The new starter's solenoid plunger needed to be adjusted. It was not activating correctly and so the throw of the starter was not engaging fully. All it took was pulling the new starter back off, removing the solenoid, and adjusting the plunger all the way...
Make sure you check the terminals on these civilian alternators. The one I bought had a loose terminal that required me to open the case and tighten it from the inside. If I hadn't caught this it would have burned the terminal up. This was an alternator from an outside vendor, not TM America...
trouble starting (air pressure related)
I was having sporadic prblems with the Deuce just clicking and not starting. I've replaced the batteries, starter, alternator, and new magnetic relay which all were either old or not working. No luck still just clicking. Voltmeter shows good voltage at...
I got movement but it is pushing up against the lower radiator hose. It's a very snug fit. I also had to use shorter 7/16" bolts to mount the lower bracket to the engine block. I'll probaby move my filter as well in the future. Thanks for the answer on the wire question. It was driving me nuts.
Finished my install. Here's the issue. There is a wire that plugged into the old military generator and I have no idea where it goes on the civilian or if it's even used
Bobbing it will take you down to around 11,000#. Most tag personnel are clueless with MVs so you'll get a different answer from each person you talk to.
I wasn't able to get a Antiques tag through them for some reason. I spoke with my local tag office and they said I could switch it over. The historical tags are the same thing only they are the actual tags from the year the vehicle was manufactured. It's getting harder and harder to find...
Florida Fast Title
(813) 237-5805
When I did this about a month ago I spoke with KC and she was very helpful. It cost me their $100 fee plus tag, registration, and title. If you have an extra tag to put on it will save you about $75. The registration was about $115 and the title cost me $70.
Florida doesn't do bonded titles. I just used a company in Tampa and for a fee around $100 they used a power of attorney and registered mine through a private tag agency in Volusia County. It took about two weeks and required a law enforcement officer or tag agent to verify VIN. I'll get the...
I just had a similar problem with mine. The alternator was seized up causing the batteries to slowly drain and not provide enough power for start up resulting in clicking. I replaced the starter relay while I was at it from one I picked up at White Owl for about $65.
That's a nice looking system. I have a similar setup on my F350 and it works out nice except trying to lug it from the front to the rear of the vehicle in knee deep mud.
I replaced mine because the old one siezed up and would have cost more than the $650 a new one cost. I got this whole system out the door for less than $200 delivered. So for me it was cost driven. Added bonus it's smaller and lighter and more readily available.
TM America got back to me lickety spit. I think I'll go that route. I'm a firm believer that customer service and quality workmanship are still the cornerstones to a successful business. Thanks for the hellp guys.
I need to replace my alternator and am not having a lot of luck getting ahold of Wolverine technolgies. Does anyone else make a bolt on 24V alternator replacement? Thanks.
I got a buddy to run the voltmeter while I tried to start it. Turns out the alternator is frozen up. It was getting low voltage on start up and the belt was just free spinning on the alternator when I pull started it.
Where's a good place to pick up an alternator?
I just ran cables directly from the positive lead off the battery to the back of the soleniod and from the battery ground to the back of the starter and still just clicking so I'm not sure what other connections could be a problem.
I just jumper from the solenoid to the back of the starter and it sparked but did not turn over. My issue is it's a nely rebuilt unit and fired it right up the first time but not since. There's going to be a serious problem if this starter is junk.
I've seen some similar issues on previous threads but they were cured short of this level. I was having some issues with a clicking when attempting to start my M35A2 but after a couple of pushes it would fire up. It finally progressed to only clicking. I replaced the batteries because they...
