Anyone know of a place in the aforementioned town that wheels and deals in MVs? I was told that there was an M886 and a few M880s there. Supposedly there are also numerous other MVs as well as a HUGE collection of antique tractors.

ALL vehicles from that era suffer from "water based primer syndrome" something fierce. I would militarize a 1st gen Cummins in a heartbeat! In fact, there was a D350 for sale here locally that I contemplated mounting an M105 bed on and painting the cab appropriately.
Well, it looks as though I will be making a southbound trip as soon as my EUC clears for that Fuel Bowser, and I will be headed down that way towing an empty Big Tex car trailer. I could haul something south like an M38 or an M151. Could also haul things like engines, transmissions, axles...

Try removing one of those fancy factory "POWER WAGON" decals from a civilian tailgate! Heat gun wouldn't touch it, Goof Off wouldn't touch it, ended up taking it off with a MAP gas torch, putty knife and a wire wheel. :shock:
Cruised on home with no problems, home by noon. Total equipment casualties for the weekend: One M1 Garand Op Rod spring, and one passengers side window regulator.
