No, the fluid just stays in the airpack. When it gets full of fluid in the air side, the pedal will get rock hard as you will have lost the air assist at that point. There is a little pipe plug in the back cover of the airpack that is for lubrication.... You can check to see if it's full of...
Yeah I saw the pics.... That was in response to ODdave who in post #22 said he knew where there was a non-turbo LDS-427, but as I suspected and Kenny confirmed, there was no such beast...
The LDS-427 isn't a great engine, but it's very rare and thus collectible. I wasn't aware that there was ever a non-turbo LDS-427. Maybe the turbo was removed or maybe it's actually a non-turbo LDT-465...
There are four TMs for the engine.... I haven't looked, but valve adjustment has GOT to be in there.

I'm not sure about your other questions but someone will chime in.

Wholesale prices tend to fluctuate from scrap value to parts value, rarely higher. I have the exact opposite of your reaction, I'm amazed I can get so much truck for a few thousand bucks....
I did the same experiment. With 50 in my brand new rear tires, they caused a lot of vibration. At 35 they're smooth as glass. I run 60 in my fronts....
In my experience, this reputation of 2-cycle Detroits as leakers is outdated, or attributable to abuse.... The modern gasket sets are excellent and the correct engine oil (see my post above) prevents liner scoring and the resulting slobber out the air box drains. My 6-71N in my M52 and my...
I recently pulled a winch setup for my deuce from a truck being parted out.... There was a wire loop hanging from the front engine / radiator mount with a bunch of shear pins hanging from it. I thought it was a clever place to keep them, when you crawled under there to replace a broken pin you...
These guys posting above me are awesome. I was gonna say it would be cheaper to swap out the trans for a used one, but if you're gonna get hooked up with good used innards, even better. [thumbzup]

My spec sheet says 611 ft. lbs @ 1600 rpm for a 6v-71 with N65 injectors.
This place doesn't have spec sheets, but a lot of other useful DD 2-cycle engine info. The oil page linked below is particularly important if you want the engine to live a long life. You probably already know DD 2-cycle...
Make sure it's actually coming out the vent tube.... The turbo drain line is close by, maybe that's leaking and oil from it is pouring down the side of the vent tube. That much oil out the vent tube wouldn't be good.
The manual for deuce transmissions, transfer cases and PTOs is here on Steel Soldiers..... it's TM 9-2520-246-34-1
If you've got it already, sorry, but I think that's about as good as you're going to find.

It's supposed to blink? Mine just glows dimly.... I asked this in a thread a few years ago and didn't get a response, I've assumed it was working all this time. I have two units, I've swapped them and both behave the same - they glow dimly.

Will - I think the weekend of the spring CDB trip should be reconsidered for 2011.... Every time so far, it has been on the same weekend as Camp Delta at Tower Park. We should be convoying up to Tower Park! Make CDB a few weeks before or a few weeks after.
The pinion bearings on my center...
Are you sure your truck is this way? It should not be so..... I believe there was an MWO to separate the brake vents from the fuel tank vent for safety reasons.... Fuel vapors can degrade brake system components.
The MC and Airpack should vent into a copper tube that runs up the firewall and...
