Thanks for the nice complements. I am now working on Fresh Resto III, i t will feature the 36's with the 8 bolt wheels and the magnesium run flats. These have been balanced buy the Army with the good lead weights so I am hoping that they ride better than the last set. The 37's on this...
Recovery4x4
Sorry... I didn't use anything...I had another set with the full run flats installed but they add about 36 lbs to each tire/wheel and I wanted to keep the weight down. Also, like I said I am not going to do serious off road duty and will keep them aired up to around 45 psi. They...
M1008
Dale, the 37's are the way to go! Next M1008 I get I am going to install a fresh set of stock front leaf springs and see what happens with a set of 37's. I bet money that the 36's fit no problem and maybe the 37's.
Thanks for the comps on the truck, I did take it off road around my...
M1008
The bridge plate is the round metal plate mounted on the front bumper of MV's to alert the powers that be of the weight of the vehicle when traveling over bridges.
You know, the last truck I did also had the 8 bolt rims with 36's and I needed to trim just a tad off the fenders, however...
M1008
No fading with the Liner, but I am sure over time it will start to fade some.
Yeah, the bridge plate is green but I thought I keep it green as atribute to the Army green I like better than the tan.
Did the tan trucks have the bridge plate the same tan color? :driver:It would be a lot...
Thanks!
yep, I used Herculiner from Pep Boys. It works very good and not to expensive, the 1 gal kit does the whole bed. I used it on my Deuce Bobber and the last M1008 I did.
I use "SEM" interior dye to spray the doors and dash, the seat is a custom cover made by my interior guy who does...
Here are some pictures of my just completed restoration of my M1008; it’s got the 12 bolt H1 rims with the 37’s, fresh paint interior and all service done. Enjoy. David
Thanks!
Yep, I checked with Gm, it's no longer available. JC has them but for the later trucks, LMC does not carry them. But I will try the other sources.

Hi,
I need a 4x4 shifter ball for my M1008 4x4 transfercase, anyone have any ideas about where to get one? Also, anyone know what size the thread is on the shifter?
Regards, David
thank you sir!
You also hellped my nerves as I could not think of a good reason someone would take ALL the bulbs and sockets until you said they might have robbed them for another truck. But how in the **** could this thing run with no charging system?
David
Bulbs
Thanks the weird thing is that everything else works, fuel gauge, speedo ect.
Are you asying that the Gen 2 light is a 194 and the
Gen 1, 4x4 light and Oil light are 168's ?
David
Lights
Yes, thanks. What I was wondering was how the system was working with the dash lights missing as they are part of the original system, or maybe it's not working. But it does seem to be charging per the volt meter. Could somebody have by passed the dash lights?
A little help please, I just picked up a M1008 nice truck that starts and runs everytime, however the Volt gauge reads in the yellow then after a few min. comes up to green. The dash idiot lights never did work, Gen 1, Gen 2, 4x4 and the Oil light, so I was checking them to troubleshoot the...
