I agree 100%
SHIPPING would kill any dealer. And a blind contract that a dealer would automatically buy any truck that came into GL possession would be extremely stupid on the dealers part. It does not take too many $5000 non-running/parts trucks until the dealers storage lot is filled with...
RE: Re: RE: Pulling one wheel from the duals
Here is how the rear wheels are held on:
Hub has standard deuce wheel studs
Inner wheel goes on & then the "budcaps" screw directly on the studs & hold the inner tire on
Outer wheel goes on & then held by lugnuts on the "budcaps"
So it is a 3 part...
Just so you know now.....
The 8 holes on the axle & the 8 holes on the hub WILL NOT line up when you put it back together. You will need to jack the other side up off of the ground to release the tension, and then you will be able to spin it by hand in order to line it up.

RE: Re: RE: what I need to do to pick up a truck
In VA you can get a 3 day trip permit ONLINE and print it at your house for $5
No title required.....just make/model/vin
I hope I like it! :? If I had not of inspected it in person....and crawled all underneath of it.....I seriously doubt I would have bought it. GL has JUUUUUNK 50% of the time...and its not worth the risk in my opinion to buy anything that is going for more than scrap value.
I plan on...
Hmmm......titles mean taxes...... ;)
I will get titles for the ones I keep.....but my list will be a rotating one (of current & formerly owned trucks) within the next couple months....
And.....in VA, you can do a LOT with "farm use". I just add them on my auto policy as "farm use" & the cops...
Do you jack the entire front axle/tires off of the ground when you adjust this?
What bolts/etc do you loosen/tighten to fix the toe-in issue?
Is that the only thing that I need to adjust?
BUY IT!
If you change your mind later....sell it, part it out or scrap it. I dont see how you can lose $ as long as you can tow it home.
Here is what I screwed up on early this year & am just now beginning to forgive myself.

Before I get yelled at....I did a search and this was the closest thread I could find ---> http://steelsoldiers.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=17082
Now...for my questions....
Both of my "legal" (tagged & insured) deuces appear to not have the front wheels aligned correctly. The...
It weighs 19,000 lbs empty......that is not much more than the enclosed cargo dual axle trailers that just sold. Wouldnt it be easier to pull empty since it isnt catching all the wind like those trailers do? :?
$1290.00 - high bid
$129.00 - buyers premium

Nope....no sideboards :( All the boxes underneath are empty.
Am I going to have trouble pulling when it is empty? or partially loaded?
How much weight can I safely put on it with my M818?
Thanks!
My engine has looked all oily since I got it. So....when I changed the fuel & oil filters, I soaked everything with engine cleaner, let it work & then washed it off. Dried overnight & then drove around. When I lifted the hood up, the ENTIRE drivers side of the engine & under the hood was...
Well....what good is a M818 with no trailer? NONE! haha
Here is what I picked up today @ Ft. Meade.....I inspected it on Tuesday & was very surprised in the GREAT condition.
New deck
New air hoses
New brake shoes
No major rust
Good paint
All good tires
Every grease fitting had new grease...
That is a constant fear I have. Some IDIOT riding with me thinking to themselves "what does THIS switch do??"....
I was that idiot at one time.....I had a suburban & showed my buddy that it could switch into 4 wheel drive why I was going 55mph......that was a costly mistake....
