Have not got into fuel system yet. Did the transmission with good results.
Have read where the fuel systems on thes trucks can be pretty gummed up. Though It starts great and runs well, I will clean up and service the fuel system. I actually like taking stuff apart "carefully" and cleaning it.
I...
The area beneath the fuel filter looks a little wet as well. I did see a couple drops come off the end of the electrical switch. Maybe the drips are spraying back onto lower assembly where filter goes on. I will start with new filter though.
Its a Sparta M36 truck-have driven her about 350...
I need help to solve fuel leak issue. Beneath the fuel filter-and to the side there is a jumble of piping that terminates to an electrical sensor (two wire). Fuel is dripping-slow drip off the bottom of this sensor. There is a lot of fittings: Senso is at end, pipes to a 45 degree pipe elbow...
You can air up your tires with a conventional air chuck-
just turn off your CTIS in the cab, Look in the wheel cover square hole-thats where you can air up the tires with a simple air chuck.
I have changed to Goodyears-no bounce and runs down the road well.
I took m,y A3 out today for a long drive after the final fluid flush. Drove about 75 miles in 15 degree weather (Minnesota). Shifts are smooth and predictable. The shifts where more abrupt when it has the engine oil in transmission. Perfect-no hesitation going into reverse. Shifts are very...
I flushed my A3 transmission 4 times. I removed the drain plug and out came about 7.5 to 8 quarts each time. Drove the truck about 5 miles at 45 MPH then several forward reverse runs in driveway to make certain fluid was well circulated. Did this 4 times and changed spin on filter. You will need...
GL action in PR has all late serial number A3's that appear to be in tough shape. Most are listed with SN higher than 5500 but have the year 1993 shown. So whats up with that?

Lying works pretty good. I was trying to get a slight yes on buying a Duece back in late summer. Almost had it-then the news reported that the Iranians where going to put ships outside of our east coast. I used this to get a slightly firmer yes! You could use the latest news of N Korea...
Scott,
Thank you.
My wife came to the shop yesterday and stumbled upon the new trucks. The blow back was not as bad as I thought. Think I have just worn her down.
Titled and licensed them yesterday, so good to go on the long truck.
FYI-I found the Allison C4, Dex III ATF at Fleet farm. They have...
Won this Sparta truck a few weeks ago. Drove it back to St Paul without issue. Did fluid change and flushed transmission with four flushes. Added new ATF and transmission filter. Flushed coolant-was pretty clean.
Added a set of new shoes too.
Truck had the typical hood surface rust that was...
Your truck looks great. I have a Sparta M36A3 with they typical Frankenstien hood with rust. Sanded with coarse grit on overall surfaces-hit the hood strip with sandblast. Coated the areas with Eastwood rust encapsulator (even though had all the surface rust gone), prepped with acid wash and...
Far side front leaf spring mount is not sitting flush with frame. Load will not transfer to frame member with this gap. He is relying on the bolts to carry load-as opposed to the frame perch.
Maby if he stuffed the gap with some straw and Elmers glue-he might get better load transfer.
I looked at that one a month back when I was picking up and M35A3. Nice truck. Seth (GL) is a decent guy and very helpful. He let us drive out with our trucks.
I too just won a 923 out of Sparta-little more than yours. 900 series is new to me. Had to have one. Plan on cleaning her up and just...
