Silicone spray can keep the water from getting into the seams. It is a fair preservative for Vinyl as well, but will make the cover shiny, and that is not a normal condition for a military tactical cover. Another option you mentioned was to cover the top and that might be the best idea, or...
Mines the same as well. There is a pretty heavy set of contacts in that switch and they have strong overcenter springs so they stay either closed or open depending on position.

If the threaded end of the cable is hitting the crossmember, carefully cut off the end so you can adjust the cable tighter if need be. I have see brand new cables with the threaded end too long to make a proper adjustment and they had to be cut just to get a preliminary adjustment.
I just...
I would bet that the overflow tube caused the leak. What I would be concerned with is that it got past the headgasket and outside the block. That is a weak point and at some point down the road, you might have a failure exactly when you really would rather not have one.
I am sure Gimpy has an...
Great news on the brake fluid level!!!!!
I agree and am glad that you have solved the mystery, even if it was that nothing was wrong to begin with. Better to know and be sure if you know what I mean and the experience you had is a good lesson to all who are contemplating a remote resevoir...
Although the question pool has changed, the chances of getting more than two questions on a given test that are not in the pool you studied are slim. The basic theory and RF exposure concerns as well as the limitations of the power and frequencies has not changed and that makes up a good 60% of...
The frequencies that were originally listed by the person who started this post are MURS and are non license user frequencies. Limit is 2 watts.
The TECHNICIAN license is very easy to obtain and you can use a couple of different sources of study guides to prepare for the test.
ARRL has a...
You are totally correct on the ease of bending due to the finer strands. I have also found that Welding cable has a rubber jacket generally as opposed to a plastic, or vinyl type which also contributes to ease of positioning.
I tend to be one to go to overkill on some things, and maybe this...
I use a two cycle outboard oil that meets the TCW3 specs and use a quart to about 20 gallons. The TCW3 specs are the current specs for the outboard marine industry.
If you do some searching on the differences in the oils, you will find that the aircooled 2 stroke oils do not have the high...
You can go to a welding shop and have them make up a short cable. I would use 00 or 000 cable and eyes on the ends with 3/8ths holes. The welding cable is very fine and carries far more current with less heat buildup than the automotive cable. You can fab up a cable like this if you know how...
I tend to get preachy when I speak about this but forgive me for going through this again. I also ask that I be pardoned if this has been tried.
The new fuel is Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel and in the process of removing the sulfur they also destroy the lubricating properties of the fuel. So much...
I would go to a U-Pullit yard, and remove a Glove box door with a keyed lock. Take it to a locksmith and get a key made. It is possible you can find the key with the car. The Hinge and plastic glove box interior are part of the glove box door. Let's put it this way, its easier to simply get...
I read the law about "trucks must stop" and since I register my deuce as historic I am not really a truck. MY weight is set and will not change, and I am not required to have a heavy vehicle inspection. I do not need a CDL. I am in NY and it is a very PITA state in many regs and things and it...
I just searched every data base I can find that holds these orders and the third numeral group on all of these was 3 digits. The original post has a 2 digit number and that I believe is possibly incorrect, and a photo of the tag would be helpful. I probably can find the specific MWO...
Here is a link to the PDF of the MWO that was issued to the troops with the drawings of where the mounts are supposed to go.

I would say with all the deuces coming out of GL that whatever the average price is that a few people you know who has deuces the same yer would be good enough. Maybe 2500. After all, the value is what is paid for the truck as you got it.

Carnac; I had a similiar problem with my '91 Suburban which has the same front end as the CUCV 1009, I had a loose wheel bearing. When I hit the brakes, the right front would turn out and cause the truck to slew right.
One other possibility is that the caliper on one side is stickiing and...
I generally prefer to split from low to high 5th low to 4th high. I miss the huge gap in the gearing between 3rd and 4th in high range which as we all know is a killer under load and climbing a hill.
Splitting going up is easy. Going down is a practised art. I am still acquiring my chops...
