The radiator overflow cap on the left is the correct one.
It appears you have some light unplugged from wherever it is supposed to be plugged in. That is if the other end goes to a light of some sort.

The first thing I did when I got my shelter was to get on the roof and seal every seam, and potentional source of a leak. As to the Lead issue all I can say is that if you are around autobody work a lot, you are exposed to more lead than a well painted surface. Automotive paint has lead in it...
My Deuce with my S280 tops out at 11-3 give or take a little. M109 is about 7 inches shorter.
I suppose if you want comfort, the camper makes sense, but hey, this is a military truck....
Comfort was an after thought....
I will bet one thing....My S280 is a heck of a lot better insulated...
I have 235r85-16 on my suburban and it sits very high off the ground and with the mud n snows it goes pretty much anywhere I care to go. I am not sure I would want to lift a 3/4 ton simply because I wanted the cargo capacity it has along with the towiing capacity so I did not mess with it. The...
I would not spend money on additives for fuel that cost more than the simple solutions that already exist.
1) A cetane improver will help with keeping your fuel from gelling and improves combustion.
2) I use 2 cycle oil as an additive to replace the lubriucity of the fuel in the injector...
Fuel is black...oil is blue, coolant is white....
What little was there could be accumulated moisure in the fuel. I would check your water separator/filter and make sure it is not saturated.....
I would get the truck on the road and run it a while. Even running it until the engine is hot...
I run my deuce with about 4000 pounds in the rear, S280 shelter and all my stuff, and I run 35 in the rear and 45 in the front. I made the gradual reduction in pressure after running for 3000 miles and checking tire contact patterns. At this point, the truck rides great, handles great and does...
I leave the compression nut on the small copper tubing on my master cylinder slightly loose and it swivels when I want to open the master to check the fluid, and conveniently hangs there on the tube from the T when I am filling the master, or any other checks or maintainence. I do not plan on...
What is that silver cap?
Attached is a pic of mine. What is the little silver cap? It spins freely but does not come off by turning.
The silver cap is a breather that is normally used on an axle or transmission. Typically a deuce will have a copper line (1/8") extending from the master...
I have 3x5 Flags, the American Flag and the POWMIA flag mounted on 10' staffs and I will be set up at an artsy fartsy liberal mecca arts and crafts festival next weekend and I will have both flying high and proud. I am there providing volunteer first aid and security so I am there all weekend...
Check the fluid in the master. That is likely the cause. You have to understand that the master cylinder of a deuce holds a pitifully small amount of fluid and if you have a leak, it may not show up on a tire or rim until you are literally out of fluid, or even after, if you refill the master...
I am not a real JEEP expert and know only some of the various powerplants....
If you can get a good photo of the side of the engine with the manifold, along with the transmission
that might be of great assistance.

Look in your master cylinder, and press the pedal slowly and before the brakes take up hydraulically, you should see a upflow of brake fluid from the relief port. If you do, then you have an air pack problem. If not, then the master is holding the hydrauulics on.
The relief port is a very small...
Glow plugs are 6 volt devices. They rely on the resistor pack to lower the voltage to an acceptable level. Additionally, the resistor helps moderate the time factor for the thermal relay that controls the timing of the glow plug cycle. The resistor pack is a simple and goof proof device that...
It sounds to me like the glow plug relay stuck on and the resistors got hot. Glow plugs are designed at 6 volts operating voltage. By using the resistor pack and 12 volts, they are predictable in terms of timing, by using voltage rise as the glow plug warms up. As a heating element warms up...
Cold winters...Kansas? Oh yeah, the wind blows a lot there....
No seriously, I started my deuce at -7 last winter on the pair of 800 cca batteries without issue. Some of this has to do with the condition of the engine and how winterized the fuel is. You have to add kerosene to keep it from...
