    Deuce Rear Hub Runs Hot

I bought a small stash of them N.O.S. from a vendor at an MV show 2 years ago. They're 20 years old, but were still sealed in their foil-lined brown paper envelopes. I'd like to suggest for the vendors in this hobby, including dealers like Memphis Equipment, to purchase stock from original...

    Turbo Defecating Oil

Like Lee said, oil consumption doesn't necessarily mean the truck isn't able to be reliable driven... Just keep an eye on it. I'd warm up the engine, and have someone rev it up a bit with the oil fill cap off while you watch. Here's an example of unacceptable blow-by: If the blow-by isn't...

    Turbo Defecating Oil

Will - It's coming out of the road draft tube itself! ...Not a good sign.....

    Turbo Defecating Oil

Uh, I wouldn't call that good news...... Now, instead of needing a new turbo, you need a whole new engine! Some blowby out that tube is acceptable - that's what it's for. But if you're spewing gallons of oil out of it, your engine is seriously clapped out..... Toasted piston tings, a hole in a...

ISSPRO Turbocator Pyro / Boost Gauge

Hi Group, I searched the archives and was surprised not to find someone else who has installed an ISSPRO Turbocator, a really cool 3" combined pyrometer and boost gauge. It requires no electricity except for the bulb to light it at night, and uses a standard K-type thermocouple. I paid just...

    Ever see a m105-DT

Pics can't be bigger than 800x800 pixels, but you can take them closer-up, and/or crop them before uploading so we can see better... Jon

    The New Deuce aka TONKA

Nice truck! ....I've never seen extra jerry cans on the rear mud guards like that.... Interesting.

    Deuce Rear Hub Runs Hot

I am so sick of made-in-China JUNK!!! I had problems with these seals and lock-tab washers, until I bought quality parts. Perfect assembly and no hot hubs.

    New project-M59

If I thought that engine were original to the truck, I would be your guilty conscience urging you to keep it a gasser... But it doesn't look quite like the gasser in my pole-setter, mine has big acorn nuts on the valve covers, has a military distributor, different carb., double belts, and does...

    my new deuce

Mine is close to his, 0125-36424, and mine's a early 1968. B.T.W. - Don't be disappointed that it's not a newer truck... Personally, I like the older ones better - There's more history there to think about, and also your reg. fees will be lower and you have the option of Historical Vehicle...

    89 deuce front end probs

Look at the lower front of the transfer case, a few inches below and toward the passenger's side from the speedometer drive adapter...... If there's a little cylinder there with an air line coming off it, you've got an air shift but are missing the switch. If there's a lever there with a...

    Turbo Defecating Oil

:ditto: Mine would dribble a bit of oil out the road draft tube until I switched to straight 30wt oil, NOT 15w-40. Now, oil consumption is zero.... But that much oil probably indicates the need for a new engine. Let's hope your crankcase is too full, eh? Jon

Spinner II Centrifugal Oil Bypass Filter

I talked to T.F. Hudgins / Spinner II Tech Support about which model for the Multifuel, and they recommended the Model 36 SE (same as the newer Model 936, both are 1gpm @ 60psi). For a bigger engine like the Cummins in the 5-tons or my Detroit Diesel 6-71N, you would use the bigger Model 960...

Spinner II Centrifugal Oil Bypass Filter

Hi Group, I finally got one! A Spinner II Oil Cleaning Centrifuge... This is a bypass oil filter, which uses the engine's oil pressure to spin a centrifuge at up to 8,000 rpm to clean the oil. It processes 1 gallon per minute at 60 psi. It will remove particles smaller than .01 micron...

    Deuce Oscillating idle question

It goes away after the engine is warmed up, right? ...It's just governor hunting, nothing to worry about. Some engines do it, others don't. It could be due to varying levels of wear, but most likely it's governor is just a little bit out of adjustment. On 2-stroke Detroit Diesel engines...
