In a project that I have been working on, I needed a rubber grommet for wiring to pass through 1/4" thick frame. Not finding one at my local GOOD hardware store, I came across an option that can be found at just about any auto parts store. It is a PCV grommet from older Fords. It requires a...
After my last incident, I located an aftermarket replacement turn signal flasher. It is made by TruckLite, UltraFlashII model, and works on 12 or 24 volt systems. There are 2 models:
#97231 Flasher WITHOUT audible signal
#97232 Flasher WITH audible signal
Here are the specs:
25 amp max...
Yep, save those spark plug motors for commuter cars and push mowers.
Welcome to the ever-growing crowd of Michigan MV-heads.
If you're driving around in your back yard with a deuce, hopefully you don't mind ruts, even if its fairly dry. Hope its a decent sized yard so you can maneuver...
This weekend (7/25/09) is the 2nd annual show. This time it will be at the Veteran's Memorial Park instead of the Bruce Post. More room for vehicles/vendors, better parking.

Here's a pic of the oil cooler housing, courtesy of Cranetruck. If this is what you are talking about, it is for oil sampling.
I would open the vent on the heater, then fill until coolant starts coming out, close the vent and top off. Get it to operating temp and let it cool, then verify...
Maybe you could try wiggling air lines near the fittings while someone holds the brake, in case it is an intermittent leak in a fitting.
Also, the relay valves vent through tubing back to the intake stack, for fording purposes. The relay valve should only vent when you let off the brake, but...
Bill,
Let me know when it comes time to get them back, I'll drive if I'm available. You could even get 2 round trips done in a day, IF Murphy is busy harassing other MV'ers that day.
Ditto again on the full tank. That should be practiced at all times, not just for long term storage, for the same reason. Not to mention it will be "mission ready".
Also, get those batteries on a 3 stage charger/maintainer if you have power available.
Haven't thought about it so much for off-road traction, but have considered it just to smooth the ride out. You probably don't have this issue with 4 axles, but certain roads around here have slabs spaced about the same as the wheelbase, and it can start hopping bad.
I am mostly interested in...
She shoots a 50, and actually can/will drive the deuce, sounds like a keeper to me.
Question; do you drive with the windows down? That makes a HUGE difference in exhaust noise. There is a trick that works fantastic for keeping the heat down when driving, that is to close your vents, side...
Wheels are turnin....uh oh. For me, that usually means lots more time and $$$ than originally planned.
I'm thinking, rolling tool box that can be quickly secured inside. Roll it onto the liftgate and set it on the ground. Use in place, then lift it back up. Plus it helps with heavy stuff...
Hope everyone made it home safe. It was a good time. Saturday evening the police blocked the intersections on Main St and cleared enough parking on the street for us to do a short convoy into town and park for dinner, including the M20. Thank you to Dave M. and everyone else who made it...
Bjorn, in your rewired flasher schematic, the 24v is tee'd to feed the flasher as well as the relay contact. Did you end up putting a circuit breaker in there somewhere to protect the flasher? It seems that if the relay was slower than the flasher, or if the relay quit working, an overload...
