Just replaced head gasket/turbo/freeze plugs on the Multi.
Drove about 7 miles and a 2" freeze plug popped out. Replaced it and a 1" freeze plug popped out, about 12 miles down the road. Truck sat for 6 hours between drives. Truck didn't run hot or boil over.
I thought they fit okay, had to...
Click on the link, goes to rally info article. If one link doesn't work, try the other, both go to the same place. Please let us know if you are attending, and how many people/trucks you will be bringing. Any suggestions are welcome. Please post in the linked thread to keep everything in one...
Stuck injector - I WIN!
Doing a head gasket replacement on a the mulit in my cargo... it was getting bad about leaking oil.
Anyways, one of the injectors is STUCK. As in ain't moving. I can twist it with a cheater bar and 18" crescent. Tried prybar, and put a tie rod separator under it...

Fired up the can motor I got from miltrucks for the first time today. Had to put an injector pump, lines, and injectors on it. Got the timing right on the first time, yay!
Took 3 sets of cheap jumper cables to start it. Was trying to melt just one or tow sets.

Okay, I've searched, and checked the cross-reference. Think I looked too long, so what are the bulbs, and positions for the tail/front light housings?
Turn/brake bulb-1683 4 total
Park/tail bulb-----623 4 total
Blackout bulbs---1251 6 total
Blackout headlight-?
Front housing has 3...
Anyone know what TM, that is available for download, would cover the 331 gas engine?
Or, has anyone replaced the main seal in one? Have a part #?
Thanks,
Dennis
Little bored today, so played with my favorite gear ratio/tire/speed calculator. Be sure to leave at least one area blank, if all areas are filled, it won't calculate.

I guess I could call it M35 gasser repairs instead, since no repairs were performed/needed on the crane. This is all to get it road ready, its been a yard truck for too long. A lot of parts came off a parts truck(multi) I had that was in good shape.
Start with the engine.(pun!)
New belts...
This is an idea I stole from the Canada deuces. Trimmed the rubber off the side of the torque rod ends, drilled and tapped 1/2-13 thread, then bolted on a plate with a spacer washer. Now if I lose a torque rod end, I don't lose an axle. I can get underneath with a prybar and see if any went bad...
Found 3 trucks in a local truck junkyard.
Gasser M35, W/W, with crane on back, not a military crane. Has transfer case PTO, and supposed to run. Yellow. winch is sold off it for 700(or that's what I was told.)
GMC tipper, no front axle, non-original engine, hood/fenders dented, missing...
Had an OLD cedar tree/bush blow half way over. Cut the main trunks, and got the stump out with the M108. Took some wiggling, and had to winch myself out of the stump hole, but I got it! Sucker is really heavy, compared to other weights I've picked up, I'd say 5 tons.
Had a heck of a time...
Can you install a multifuel tank on a gasser truck, and just leave the pump in place for a pickup tube?
Started to clean out the gasser tank on the M108, and the back side and top is pinholed with rust. Do have two multifuel tanks sitting here, and the truck will need one eventually when it...
Well, we got some snow. They are saying 12-15 inches of snow, which isn't too bad.
So got the deuce out for running errands. Found a semi with a load of lumber stuck. He had got stuck on the exit ramp, didn't get over enough and caught the snow bank on the edge of the road. Had about 4 guys...
And a long story too....
Went into town, friend Dan was driving my 07 uplander/soccer mom minivan. Told him, don't ditch the van. Why is it nobody listens to me? On the way back, going along the barely 2 lane township road that is never salted, he catches the edge of the ditch and sucks us...
Went and grabbed some firewood for the year. Cherry slab wood, 5 bundles, 3-4000lbs a piece. Bundles are 4-5 feet in diameter, and 11-13 feet long. About 140 miles away. Already have 4 of the bundles cut and stacked in the basement. Was a LONG drive home, with most hills at 30-40 mph...
What about a book on the Deuce... I'm thinking not so much a tech or history manuel, but combination of both. Or even two books, one a rewritten TM, to make it easier to understand, picks up where the TM's leave off, and have all the information in one book. The other could deal with the...
