The Hiab crane shows it will reach out to 17' and still have a 5000lb lift capability. I was hoping in manual mode this reach would be enough to get to the cab. Yesterday I used the manual pump and extended the crane out. It has about 1.5' more it can go, but will not completely reach the center...
yes, it would be so easy for them to take preventative measures to keep the trucks in good condition. I need to pull the intercooler on mine so I can empty the water. I am glad that filled with water and not the motor. I will also check the air compressor inlet as you suggested. Thanks
A little background on the truck first to start my journey of rebuilding this M1084A1 truck. The truck came out of Joint Base Lewis McChord, WA. It was assigned to the 5th Battalion, 3rd Field Artillery. It has the CAT C7 Ascert motor. Going through the manuals that are available, they do not...
Randy, will you also be doing a manual overide as well? I found it very helpful the other day while waiting in 110 degree heat for my trailer to be loaded. It was nice knowing that while the truck was idling the fan was on, and there was no chance of the auto solenoid not working during this...
Coachgeo, so the link you shared to 1951M1078 (Randy) is a aftermarket replacement for the Burkett solenoid to keep only the full auto. It is not a full auto/manual solution.
Not sure why you are thinking this is "dangerous" as this is a Auto/manual solution. If the solenoid is not functioning in the auto mode you can manually overide it without having to get out of the truck.
Auto/Manual cooling fan valve - Burkett original
" Updated post for clearness that this is a "Auto/Manual" solution for the cooling fan to come on.
Had some issues with the Burkett "auto" fan air solenoid working and allowing the cooling fan to run at the right time. At first I would pull over...
Definitely want to what you figured out. I will be rotating mine 180 degrees and see if that helps. For testing I need to drive to either that hill or to Payson. Might be a few weeks as I have the interior torn apart for some sound proofing & heat deadening.
