That is what I always thought. I hear guys saying a bad flame heater can cause a crank case to fill with fuel and I cant for the life of me figure out how it ever could.
I would still adjust the valves. even after I retorqued my heads, I noticed the valves got a little tighter. Its easy to do and is zero cost. Also I would put your fan back on. Getting it over 200 would make me a little nervous. No sense on getting things hotter than they need to be if it can be...
How often do these glow plugs go bad though? My MEP-002A starts up ok now. I wouldn't mind two of them for $12 bucks, but to buy 10, seems like a lot for something I don't need that much of. Spare parts are good to have.
I looked up the diaphram to these brake chambers and they appear to have the same diaphragm part number, N-2340. The part number for the brake chamber assembly is the same with the M105A2.
Just for kicks, i looked up to see if the master cylinders were the same for both and they do have...
I recently put 9.00R-20 steer tires on my truck and even at 80PSI, the tires still look like they could use more wind in them. I looked on the stamping on the wheels and nothing is listed on them for the max pressure. On the tire, I believe it is listed as 90 PSI I believe, I have to double...
The only thing I have learned with the couple pulls I have done is use low range, first gear. Speed doesn't help us with the such low power these trucks, we need the torque more than the speed.
I know, it was eating at me too trying to figure out what the cause of the blowby is/was. I only had the problem when I put those new pistons in though. The truck never started good after that. I have the original LDT pistons in and I couldnt be happier. It runs awesome now. It will be neat to...
How many CFM is that filter rated for? I believe a stock deuce air filter was 410 CFM... please correct me if I am wrong. I would like to find something where I can flow a little more air through my air filter. Maybe find something somewhere, make brackets and modify it so I can install it under...
It is a TD block. This problem never happened with my old engine, only after I rebuilt it. They were NOS heads as well. Anything is possible, but geez, I wouldnt think anything would be cracked... or at least shouldn't be.
Side note: How do you know your LDS piston kits are 20:1 compression...
Make sure your grounds are good too. I daisy chained all the gauges on my dash and then installed a connector that took that to the ground of the cab. Bad grounds can cause some weird stuff too.
I will be driving my Deuce to Binghamton, NY around July 2nd and will be traveling empty and not pulling a trailer. On the way back (July 9th), I will be pulling what I think might be an empty (if i dont think of something to bring back for myself) M1061A1 (8'x14' flat bed) trailer, so I will...
A deuce is supposed to run at 180. Now, some LDS engines were equipped with a 165 degree thermostat, but I do not think this is the case with yours.
First step is to do like PJ suggested, confirm the temperature with an IR thermometer. If your result is close to the same as what your gauge on...
Well they have some spring clamps that im not really crazy about. they do keep constant tension but if it leaks a little, you cant snug it up.
There is always the worm gear flat band style clamp and they are pretty good. once in a while they may loosen up but its rare and you just check them...
