What did you do to your deuce this week?

Muffler is stainless steel. In the pics you can see I welded the top of the muffler to a piece of the J-pipe, bottom is held with band clamp. Not be nicest looking weld, but solid and will hold fine. The muffler wall is thin. Had to basically use tack welds, tack - rotate - tack - rotate.......

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I was impressed at the difference it made. Seems a lot quieter. When the weather dries up, I see if I can do a video. Unfortunately only have my phone to do the vid with.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Aero Turbine Performance Exhaust AT3535 Muffler I finally installed this niffy new sound modification device. Aero Turbine AT3535 Muffler. Fits like a glove and looks pretty good on the truck too. Only mods were cutting a section from the J-pipe and opening the mouth on clamp a bit. Oh...

I believe the historic/antique registration is very cheap. BUT, it comes with a lot of restrictions on what you can do with the vehicle. Basically, You're only supposed to drive the vehicle to/from shows. I think that's correct.

Cool. Nice that it's in good shape. Maybe we'll get together sometime. Wouldn't mind getting a closer look at a M109.

No problem. Is that the original manufacture date or the rebuild date? Mine was last rebuilt in '84 I think. But, it was built in '71. Should have the year code in the frame number I believe.

Two parts to that answer... 1. Must have older vehicles inspected when title is from another state. Easy. Fill out the form. You will also need proof of insurance and Drivers License. You can take the truck to them or request they come to you. I had them come to me. Never even saw the guy, he...

    Part #s for lug nuts/thimbles

juanprado - That could be. Some of the #s I got from older threads were BK 620-xxxx. Tried looking those up and got zip. But the site "Interchanged" those to the TWD #s. From there I just got the #s for Left and Right. I'll ask about the bk line when I'm at the store. At least these #s get me...

    Part #s for lug nuts/thimbles

jcappeljr - I'll keep that in mind, but I'm really looking for new parts. swbradley1 - You looking to sell any? I'm looking for a full set of nuts/thimbles for both rear axles. Anyone got part #s?

    Part #s for lug nuts/thimbles

Yep, I did a forum search.... Found a few threads from around '09. The NAPA part #s came up with zip on the NAPA site. I can find these on Epay, just trying to compare price. I don't have the rear nuts/thimbles to to take off and match at the store (rears are singled.. going back to duals)...

Small holes drilled in top rail of bed

Don't think they would help the aerodynamics of the truck any. They're in the wrong direction, would need to be drilled front to back. :-)

Small holes drilled in top rail of bed

Yeah, may never know what they were for. The truck has only had one other owner since Uncle Sam. He got it from GL. He never even drove the truck. He was going to restore the truck, but it just sat for a few years then I bought it.

Small holes drilled in top rail of bed

Hey guys. Anyone know why there would be small holes drilled down the top rail on both sides of the bed? The ones on the passenger side are around 1/8". The ones on the driver side are around 1/16". They're not lined up straight, so they look like they were drilled by hand. Any ideas?

    LDT 465-1C engine/rebuild tags questions

Was looking around the engine and discovered a painted over tag. From reading other posts I knew should be a rebuild tag. So I just had to clean the tag and take a look. Boy, cleaning that tag was a real PITA. Anyway, here's the questions. The engine has a manufacture date on the tag of 2/84...
