it is kinda weird driving the truck around an urban area and you feel each upshift and then when coming to a stop light, each downshift. That would be interesting to see if it was smoother shifting if you had 5 tons in the cargo bed.
yeah the muffler helps with the cushiness. We were able to adjust up the voltage on my friends M925a2 as described on the 2nd page of that PDF above. An allen wrench takes off the cover cap on the alternator and then adjust with a screwdriver. One person in the cab can watch the needle change...
I have bought two rebuilt 923A2's and was/am very happy with each one. One rebuilt in 2007 by the KS sustainment division, one rebuilt in 2009 by Unicore (whomever they are?). Keep watching, you may find one for a good price.
Mine does it too, seems to work okay since I am empty all the time.
Grammar thing might be a combination of texting influences and typing fast. I would not worry about it, we got the point. Here we are not writing a letter to someone or a book, just quick communications on a thread..... just...
for the flat black, I use rustoleum professional, tall can at Loews. For the green and brown I used the 383 colors from Rapco. Yeah harbor freight for the chain fall. Floor of cargo bed is only 4'10" off the ground : ) You can make your stencils easily from stuff at Hobby Lobby.
I think it is a good idea since you already know what you are doing. There are those big offroad rv's that are on a Mann chassis and such. There are folks out there with money that may want something different...
Last July I picked one up 860 miles away and drove it home and last November I picked one up 20 miles away and drove it home (both from GL). Is this from GL or an individual? Were the tires low or flat where sitting?
oh, they asked for the bill of sale too, which I had from GL, separate form then the paid invoice. I went in there with a soft sided briefcase full of stuff including registration for my previous 5 ton, same type, to show as an example. I think the amount shown on the SF 97 is what GL paid for...
I think the SF-97 comes from their AZ office and states something about AZ on it. In my state, any vehicle being titled that has an out of state title needs the VIN verified. You may want to check your state's dmv site to see if they require that. The latest truck I did, I sat for 30 mins at...
just an idea...axle oil could be coming out of that top rear seal behind that thing that spins around where you bolt on a driveshaft. maybe the axle is getting pressurized somehow like somebody mentioned and/or the pressure relief valve is stopped up or not working and the oil is coming past...
I picked up a NVNG M923a2 from Nellis in July. Rebuilt by KS sustainment unit Ft. Riley in 2007, the engine tag said engine built by Dresser 2006. I guess Dresser rebuilt it. Drove the truck home 860 miles no problem. I sold it in December. It was a very nice truck. Let us know what...
I got a truck out of Nellis AFB NV that had that same Kansas rebuild tag and it had NVNG markings. It did not have an extra plate on the dash about mileage at rebuild.
I got a truck out of Ft. Carson here in 11/13 that did have the plate, it was "re-manufactured" by Unicore of WV and I could...
just my two cents. I used to explore the mountains of CO on trips out here from the Midwest. I used a 98 chevy blazer. I would not take my a2 into the mountains. I think a heavy front tire would take away the trail on a shelf road and down I would go. also, just driving around town needs to...
I had/have a truck with working CTIS, I think, but it has been really cold out so I did not start it for two weeks. one tire does leak down in that time, you can see the bulge. I started it up and had 5 flashing lites on Saturday. I followed the info that somebody pasted on page 1 and it...
