    mep-003a teardown and refurb

Thanks, guys. The generator made it home today and got new filters, fuel and the battery installed. It started right up but doesn't make power. It also isn't running quite fast enough so I will look into adjusting that as well. Several bolts were missing from the ASK that will need to be...

BFR Metals, Salina Kansas, a Goodie Hole

I was out that way today with my father and was a few miles east of the turn off to Riley while headed back to MO when we saw a sign next to the road advertising a drug dog check point ahead. We approached an off ramp and mentioned it was dumb to place the check point AFTER an off ramp. We...

    mep-003a teardown and refurb

Thank you. I'd read someone else's posts on the topic before pulling the injectors and have ordered the necessary gaskets. I'll stop this week and pick up a coil of brake line and make up a replacement return to replace the rounded off fitting. I'm interested to see how the generator runs...

    mep-003a teardown and refurb

Thank you, gentlemen! I tapped on the lightly while doing a wiggle/twist and they came out in short order. One of the return fuel lines, the shorter one, has been damaged at some point and will need to be replaced. I'll contact Jerry and let him know they'll be on the way soon.

Thanks. guys. I decided to cheat and ask you guys once I saw they're stuck tight. I like to learn things but have grown to hate learning the hard way.

    mep-003a teardown and refurb

Jim, I've followed the instructions in the TM and have the fuel lines loose as well as the bolts, washers and the flanges removed. The injectors are still stuck solidly, how would you recommend I get it loose without messing something up? Thanks

Burnt wiring inside control panel of MEP-701A

Excellent, thank you. The fuel solenoid isn't working so my assumption is that's related to my wiring issue.

Burnt wiring inside control panel of MEP-701A

The one wire was fried nearly it's entire length. I'll try and figure out what it's for. Do I need special wire to replace what has been damaged or is the civilian stuff I've already got suitable?
