The transfer case shifts easier with no air in the system. There are a few threads about hard shifting transfer cases and what to do to make it easier.. Use google to search the forum.

That's the transfer case hi/low shift lever.. Look at the top of this page for the "Technical Manuals". Lots of info there, good luck.
