Excellent work. You sure have come a long ways on this project in a short amount of time. Definitely enjoy the updates when time permits. Wish I lived closer to see this when it is completed. Keep up the good work.
Great, I think you find it useful to have the second truck with a fifth wheel. I will start on my trailer/TV conversion on Sunday. Saturday I will bring the M931 to the Burnet Airshow for display along with others from the Lonestar chapter of the MVPA. I will start a thread when I start. Slot...
Glad to see you have your trailer back home. Your EUC cleared quickly too. Maybe now you should keep both trucks, so you have one to pull the trailer with :) Or is it going to be used for storage of all the military items you collect?
For a temporary tag, all you need is the bill of sale with the VIN#, year and model, and proof of insurance. For the insurance, everything is done bu e-mail, and they will need the same info, and pictures of each side of the vehicle. I used the GL photos for mine. VIN # should be a short number...
Kenner, I was born and raised in Iron Mountain, MI, so thought I would respond to some of your questions. for insurance on my M931 I use Continental Western Insurance. $123 yr full coverage if you only use it as a collector vehicle. But it allows you to transport it home, use it to go to events...
Excellent work Rayzer. Where will the tanks be mounted? I always look forward to reading the new progress on this build, and keep staring at the inside of my empty trailer and think where to start. Keep up the great work.
Just figure out a reasonable storage place close by and store it. Maybe even some members there have some land that you can store it when it is not being used. Not worth keeping it in a HOA neighborhood more than occasional overnights. The violation fees, are not worth the trouble. I bring mine...
I am not sure what the difference are between the Big Cam II and Big Cam III, but I was running about 2200 -2250 Rpms. I read prior these motors are good to run higher than the 2100rpms, up to 2400rpms. I am very careful with my diesels and over-reving. It sounded good, and not over-reved. Other...
Just wanted to post a quick reply about the Awesome experience I had having Silverstate55 help me get my M915A1 from Nellis AFB. Since they are only open Mon-Thursday, it is hard for me to get 2 days off work. So after seeing this post, I asked Silverstate55 if he might be able to help me get...
I am getting ready to drive my M915A1 back from Nellis AFB to Austin Texas, and have been looked up the P/Ns in the TM for the drive belts on the M915. The numbers are 28460, 217638, and 2C4582R. I have not had much luck cross referencing these belts over. I may have the 217638 cross referenced...
Rayzer,
I picked up my M146 with the M931A2, and as you said the clearance is close. My M146 did not allow me to flip up the landing gear feet. The mudflaps have to be removed on the M931, and the feet will clear the edge of the tires on most turns. It is when you get into a unlevel surface that...
I picked up a Dewey MEP-531A Generator at GL (San Antonio Texas) on 3-4-2013. The motor on mine is a Yanmar L48AE-DEG. These sets were sold without the fuel tank, fuel filter, and all drain plugs missing. After some searching I have all my parts ordered and thought I would provide others with...
After looking at your photos again of the clearance on your landing gear, I hope that I will have enough clearance when I go to pick mine up. I will have to post the clearance so others can consider this when considering buying one of these trailers for the M931/M932A2s in the future. Thanks for...
Rayzer, This is a Awesome thread on a RV conversion for the M146 that it inspired me to buy a M146 last week. Hope you do not mind using some of your ideas when I do my build out of the inside. You have a real talent for attention to detail. Thank you for keeping us all updated on the progress...
Try sending weekstrucking@yahoo.com a e-mail. I used him for my loads and he is very reasonable. I located him through uship, after I weeded through all the brokers that guarenteed results, but could not deliver in the time frame.

Have a safe trip back. whenever you stop, check each of the outer axle hubs, after getting out of the truck. They should all be around the same temperature. You will have a fun day ahead of you, with all the looks from people passing by and the excitement of driving something so fun. My super...
Excellent work on the truck. I really like the spare tire I fuel tank lock. I hope I can also get over to Jeff Davis place to buy some parts for my M931A2 soon. Just have to figure out when i have time to drive there :)
