Well.... Doing testing on the pumping system of my M35 fire truck... 5 Ton is in great shape (or was) sitting on the sideline... My trucks are parked way out of the way at my site (wood yard)... this idiot pulling a 100 yard walking floor trailer took a shortcut... nicked my fender, hooked my...
Guys, those truck/heavy equipment truck switches are designed to go between the ground and the neg battery terminal. The reason is that under those conditions, the worst that happens when the switch fails and desintegrates (and they do... believe me!) the ground disconect install just does...
Gyrenes... someone say gyrenes??? gots a PA300 Federal going through 3 holes, plus the original Federal mechanical siren/spot... you know a deuce is loud... but I cannot hear my engine run.... Gotta check my tach...
Yep, it is a non-turbo... stack is the one it came with...
Still have...
Know what??? maybe I am just partial to Fire Trucks... But there is something about an M35 in Fire dress that is just, well... special... of course the eye candy on the fender doesn't hurt... Keep up the good work
Ian, my hat is off to you. You and your crew did an awesome job. If I wasn't so into my fire truck, your mods would definitely be considered... as it is, ... besides the M35 fire truck, I also have an 818... HMMM... a 5 ton car hauler.... Ouch! (I just hit myself on the side of the head) Down...
>>> OK you peaked my interest>>> How do you know??? BTW, as far as war stories go... I was a local PO in Gainesville, FL on patrol responding to "Robbery in Progress call" in my zone. When the call went out, I was stopped in a line of over 50 cars on a 2 lane road (some individual was stalled)...
Know what? that is what is great about this hobby! I like fire trucks... I like lights... I have a business that depends on fire trucks... these trucks don't need a turbo, nor singles, nor strobes, nor sirens, but it strokes me... and I think that is what is important... at least to me... a...
Oh man... neat stuff... wig wag white? But darn... I have 2 cpi siren/led units in front where these would mount... looks great though - gotta love that truck
Wig wags are usually what you don't want to see in your rear view mirror... it is what alternately flashes the high beam (R+L) in the headlights in a patrol car or a fire truck... Friend just called to tell me that Truck-Lites makes a gizmo that should work... but I would still need to...
OK... Never enough lights!!! Now I want Wig Wags for my High beams, but trying to not reinvent the wheel. All of the "official" wig wags I have found are 12 Volt. To use them in a 24 Volt system I would have to incorporate relays and diodes since I still want to keep my high beams for whenever...
I have a friend that suggested running the pump through the crankshaft pulley... you know... punch a hole in the radiator... place 2 pillow blocks... mount it in the front of the truck (he actually has a deuce where the front bumper sticks out 4 feet or so) where the 500 GPM hale pump lives...
Well.. Yeah... that is sort of the idea... The plan is (or was) once the tank was full, you could have 2 hand lines in use while the truck moved near the fire... If you use the transfer case pto pump as set up now... your truck will be in transfer neutral... and stopped... Looks like I am going...
Thank you Ian... from Miami... from someone that digs your work!!! I don't get Spike TV (not available on DirectV), but I buy your DVD's
looking forward to it
>>>>>>>>>>Please, do the next part! I want to see that Deuce hauling the Sammy around.<<<<<<<<<<<<<
I second that emotion... I think Little Anthony (from Little Anthony and the Imperials) said that.... well, the emotion thing... I am pretty sure he had no idea what a deuce was...8)
But Part 1...
OK... got insurance, trying to get tag... WOW... Gov. Charleee in FL wants almost $1000.00 for tag... tag agency person says that once she puts in the model, it kicks her into commercial tractor and Wham Bam... Thank you Maam... that will be $1000.00 please. Any guys in FL do a recent transfer...
Yeppers... I think that would fall right in the middle of that category I call "special"... good to know it is doable... a bit out of my reach right now...
Nice!
mine did too, but as soon as I started driving, the brake pedal got harder and harder, until it just would not budge... by then my brakes were dragging... eventually to the point that the truck would not move... someone here had mentioned abouit the airpack leaking causes this... but, I believe...
