    Tips on pulling tranny?

It isn't really. Some of the bolts are kind of difficult to get to and sometimes getting the holes to align on re-installation is a pain.

    16.00 XZL's near St Louis

No, you need at least a 10 inch wide rim. If it's for a 5 ton, it is cheap enough to buy some used hemmt rims.

    Tips on pulling tranny?

No, it won't. It will be the easiest tranny replacement you have ever done.

It looks like a 5 ton....

Yes, it looks to be a dump. I can see the pivot pin on the back of the frame in my original photo.

    Stolen CUCV in CA.

A few years ago a kid had his Acura stolen. They recovered but the vehicle had been stripped. Since he loved the car, he bought it from the insurance company and started looking on ebay for parts. While looking he found the front clip from HIS CAR. It was in a junkyard a few miles away. It...

It has probably been parted out by now.

I could use a few small body parts if you are parting it out.

    trip to Howard Hammonds place

I was there about two years ago when scrap metal was high and he was busy crushing everything as fast as he could. There were a bunch of Gamma Goat chassis there but little of anything else.

    Blame it on the cat!

There is a guy on ebay who sells deuce tops. They are new but they are also desert tan. You can always dye it.

    starter clicking rapidly

Fast clicking of the starter is always a sign of undercharged or nearly dead batteries or bad connections.

True expected glow plug voltage when WTS is on

You'll have some droop when you energize the gp relay. Also, glow plugs don't always have the same resistance. A fusible link is nothing more than a solid wire typically two sizes smaller (4 number sizes) than the wire it is connected to with a special non-flammable plastic coating. You could...

True expected glow plug voltage when WTS is on

The resistor block was put in to drop the voltage from 24 down to 12 (half of the voltage coming in). Your problem is that the glow plugs are not getting hot enough when the temp is low. When you convert to 12v, you should bypass the resistor. Do this and she will start first try.

    New batteries still wont start

Check your fuel pump by opening the drain plug on the filter and cranking. If that is okay, check your glow plug relay (it is clicking on, isn't it?) then your glow plugs.

Non steering? Were you missing a key?

    headlights wont come on!!

You can take the switch out and try to disassemble it and clean the contacts. Or the contacts to the switch just might be loose and a bit corroded.

    M101A2 24 Volt to 12 Volt Conversion

A third route you might want to consider is to get a connector off a junked CUCV and connect it to the military connector on the trailer and then wire that directly to a civilian connector. No mods at all to the existing wiring harness.

GP Controller Card Bypass - What went wrong?

Your LED might not be letting enough current go through to energize the relay. Try without the LED.

    Warming up w/ charcoal?

Five years is a long time in lead acid battery life. They are probably worn out. You might get a bit of more time if you use a battery conditioner.
