You will like the chains. They are the best answer for really bad conditions, both mud and snow where you can use them. Like you said though, they are a pain to put on! We put them on our dump truck and M715 last year. The joining clips on one set wanted to hit the springs on the dump, so we...
ICHUDOV: The manual is not classified to where you cannot get one. They just might not be free. I have the CD I mentioned from Ordnance Corps in a posting above with it on it. It was not all that expensive.

I have never had a slight misalignment of the slotted bar that this ear attaches to be able to exert enough force to crack the ear off. I suggest that the alternator had been mishandled some time in its life, starting a crack in the ear from being knocked against something. This crack then...
Jersey Jeep 2003, you are most welcome. You are using this information as intended by me. The thickness of the parts and the length of the one end of the hollow bolt can be adjusted to make them out of aluminum. You use the normal flat gasket in the original filter base and the hollow bolt...
Nice work! These machines are amazing. Ours has never disappointed us in what it will do, but owning one of these trucks amplifies your need to use good safety practices and common sense.
I saw one thing in the military trailer loading picture that bothered me from a safety stand point. I...
Our compressor developed an oil leak in the round cooler between the drive end cap and body of the unit. It was impossible to fix, and a new one was quoted at around $700. We adapted it to send the oil to a heat exchanger I had from an industrial machine. One side of the exchanger has the oil...
For anyone who wants the manual for these welders, go to ordnancecorpsusa.com and purchase the "Metal Workers CD". It has an unbelievable amount of information on it, including the government manual TM9-3431-272-14&P, Welding Shop Trailer Mounted Model 11838792 which is for these units on the...
I firmly believe that if a transmission is popping out of gear with any oil there is wear or incorrect clearances in it causing the problem, not EP oil.

As an alternate oil we use the transdraulic oil recommended for farm tractors. It helps shifting in really cold weather. You have to watch that your seals are in good shape or it can get away faster than gear oil. We have a 5 ton that was balky about kicking in the front drive. We put...
These are really nice welders. One caution; BE SURE TO PUT DOWN THE REAR STABILIZERS! The unit is very prone to tipping if it does not have torch tanks on the front.
I got one on an M200 from Stout Field in Indy for about $2000. It had all of the boxes full of equipment and runs really well...
Think of epoxies as setting up to form a plastic or polymer substance. High heat is the enemy of plastics. As mentiooned, there are actual exhaust pipe repair compounds on the market, like at NAPA, etc. I have used it with mixed results. It works best where you can get it right into the joint...
I am happy to hear you did not have deep problems. The can on the stack also stops the black sooty drops of water from being blown all over nearby trucks, or the starting truck according to wind direction.
One big problem to watch for is torbo damage in a case like this if the truck is so...
One series of Oliver tractors had stamped steel adapters. Sadly, the part numbers are no longer available. I made ACAD drawings of the parts before I installed them on my truck. In my opinion the ones for sale are WAY over priced, especially when I know how China machine shop prices are. I may...
I have an 1100 Massey Ferguson tractor that had a Waukesha I-6 320 CI gas engine in it that went bad. I machined all of the parts and made frame brackets to put a GMC 478 V-6 gas in it. The I-6 was about 97 HP and the V-6 is about 250. The tractor clutch is very similar to the ones in our...
Reverse steering; AH, the memories that brings! When i was maybe 26 I built a "tractor" out of a metal frame that was lying around, the rear axle and two transmissions out of a Rambler, and a Dodge straight front axle. I mounted the steering box the most convenient way. When i drove it the first...
I do not know the exact name; it could be a countershaft gear, idler gear, or drive gear. Since you have good photos, I would send them to info@memphisequipment.com and see what they say. Another possibility is onfo@SamWinerMotors.com in Akron, Ohio. They specialize in winches.
Good Luck...
And so many guys keep saying "Turn 'em up and blow 'em up!!" which has not been my experience with our trucks. These engines in farm and pulling tractors prove the opposite of that mantra.
Regards Marti
We run multifuels in their boxes. We have a radiator off a combine we bolt to the front lip of the container. The combine radiator is in a frame that easily adapts for mounting this way. We then run connections to the engine using PVC pipe and radiator hoses. We take off the engine fan blade for...
