Yeah.....I saw both times, the first being the rock slide near devils backbone, ask Audrey she was with me as i held the brakes (park brake wouldn't hold on the steep hill) waiting for sparky to back up and pull him out. It was fun for me to see the limitations of 4x4 vs. 6x6.Army trucks rule...

The transmissions Are synchronized and should have no grinding into gears.
Make sure the clutch is adjusted properly.
I'd figure a price on replacing the trans (with a used one), as replacement parts can be pricey.
Hmmm...I believe you can pull the front driveshaft and flange off the transfer; then pull the sprag cover. Not sure what you'd see but, if there's any metal particles in the gear oil..........bad news for big bearings!
The bright side of replacing the whole case is the scrap metal is worth $...

tell you may need to replace the transfer case.
My M818 had a bad transfer case when I bought it, so I pulled it apart and started pricing parts......:shock:
