    As I believe it was Westech who quoted a while back that you can get to the Fuel Sending Unit and the strainer/screen/sock by cutting a hole in your bed. Here are some pictures courtesy my Brother Mark69k20 sent to me for a family member having issues with start up. We see no fuel leaks anywhere...

    M1009 'Outer' Air Filter

    no it's not a required part! It serves only as an EXTRA barrier "pre cleaner" to the actual air filter. The military had it over the air filter for an EXTRA protection because of the potential for training/missions in dusty conditions.

    Alright, you told us that you smelled smoke! Pulled the Glow Plug Controller CARD. It was burned in SPOTS. So you replaced it with one you purchased from Ebay. Why would you install a part where you knew you had an issue? Pull that GP Control Card out please and get back to us. Let us know...
