I think the rev's are not high. If I did the math right the gearing is below 410's. I have been running it like this for over 5 years with those road speeds. NOTHING has ever gone wrong with the truck.
The tires are 35in the blazer has 4:56 gears I drive around 70mph on a regular basis. I just drove it from vegas back to seattle,wa this was the 5th trip never any issues.
I switched from the 4:56 to 4:10 a few years ago when I was using the truck on the road alot it worked perfect. I switched back to 4:56 when the truck went back to off road duty. Also if you use 410's you get to use the same locker.
Really looking forward to this haven't had a Saturday off in 2 years. Put a new muffler on the blazer yesterday, diesel fumes are ok on short trips. See everyone who is heading south on Saturday at exit 99 at 7am.

Just finished my 4th round trip from vegas to seattle with my baby a 86 M1009. It has the rears from a M1008 and 35in tires. Ran perfect as expected, a little warm through the desert about 210 degrees. It got about 13.5mpg and used less than half a quart of oil. Ran about 65mph the whole way...
Anyone in the Seattle area have a tow bar that I could borrow for a few days next month or know where I can buy one. Need to tow a couple of CUCV's.
