I have a 1028 (1986) that is wired like a 1010 ambulance. It has the 2 big 28 volt alts on it. Is there any reason that I cant take the wire that hooks to the top output shaft on the top alt and put it on the output of the bottom alt and get rid of the top alt.

RE: duvac... I have a M1028 that is wired this way. Look on the drivers door data plate if it is a 1028 it will be at the very top of the plate. The plate will be located on the door not the door jam.
