Have a question about the primer pump next to the filters on the MK48 - When you pump the primer it blows bubbles in the fuel filter bowl - Theres no real pressure on the pump as you work it. The reason for trying to use the primer pump is the engine wont start - it ran fine when it was...
little gen set
The engine is a Briggs&Straton - I believe it was used for radio gear. I just want to get it running to hear the engine. I cant even think of a light that will operate on 110 volts DC. Had the civilian version of that engine on a gocart as a kid.
Heres a couple pics of the gen set I picked up from a friend - I decent shape considering its age. Hope to get it running soon - any suggestions on the best way to clean the fuel tank - its kinda crusty.
Why !!! Why!!!!
I hear the "why" question about the firearms I build too. Why do you need a .50 cal rifle? I answer back with a question - why do you need a Corvette when you can drive a Chevette? Why do you need a 4000 sq ft house when a 400 sq ft model will work? Why because I can thats why -...
FL titles
I received my title paperwork for the 2 trucks today - one had an error on the trailer's VIN - it didnt match the Oshkosh serial number. Take a close look at your papers.

Today the second Mk48/14 was delivered - camo yesterday tan today. The tan truck was a complete unit that had never been apart. Thanks go out to wreckerman893 and Skip at Tillet Heavy Haul for making the whole plan come together.

Speaking of Bio Diesel two of my Military vehicles have been victims of the stuff. My Air Force Hyster forklift had at least 3/4 of an inch of goop in the bottom of its tank. The pickup pump was frozen up due to the stuff too. Runs great now after cleaning up the mess. My 89' M35A2C also was a...
Just bought one of the Mk48 LVS trucks in Jacksonville - will the 8V92TA operate with a wmo/diesel mix? If so any experience with the mixing ratio? Thanks
The latest news....
I have been away for a few days - family trip to see more family at the beach. Anyway whats the latest on transport cost if I were go that route vs driving both back? 2 - Mk48's to Safety Harbor FL 34695.
Whoa, maybe a wrecker instead
I am leaning toward having a wrecker move both off site and drive them home - unless I can find a cheaper ride. Under normal conditions only 3.5 hours from home - In the MK48 probably add at least another 1 1/2 hr. I have drivers willing to make the trip. EUC went...
(2) MK48's for me
I ended up with 2 trucks - If there was a way to get them off base I was thinking of driving them home - Tamps Bay area. Anyone have experience with highway driving the Mk48? Also looking for the operators manual. The option of having them trucked is not out of the question...
