c. Check and Adjustment
1. Start engine and buildup air pressure (TM 9-2320-361-10) until gage (4) reading is steady.
2. Check air pressure. Gage (4) should read 85-120 psi.
My personal preference for a brake controller would be this. A truly proportional controller without all the electronic crap of the newer controllers that try to mimic this style.

Sounds like the shift linkage isn't working either externally or inside the TC. You should feel a definite resistance when changing from 2H to 4H just like shifting a manual transmission. If you haven't done so check and make sure something as simple as the rod from the shift lever to the TC...
Good info thanks. I have a brand new LDT to put in the duece and my cherry picker won't lift that high and I didn't want to go through the trouble of pulling the front tires to drop the front low enough.
Exact thing I do. I do the under hood check for leaks and check the engine oil level then start it up. While the air is building I check all the lights and tire air pressure and once the air is up to 120 psi I shut the engine down and mash on the brake pedal and listen for air leaks and watch...
