The change in ground conditions, if you wait too long, could present a major problem.
In your posts yesterday I think you said media reports suggested temps around 45 F by the weekend.
IMO... do not wait for that to occur, given the drainage from such a large amount of melting snow.
I'd get...
I have noticed that some 'electric company' vehicles have a door on some of their trucks
that says, WARNING: High Voltage, but I've never thought about what system, or tool it
might be connected to. I wonder if some of their huge, 'boom-rigs' depend upon a high
voltage power supply? IDK...
My guess is:
Dusterdeere lives in a serious snowbelt. His region is heavily affected by lake-effect snow and wind.
It may actually allow his truck to retain warmth enough to keep running. :shrugs:
I once lived out that way and we often covered the hood of our truck and kept an incandescent...
Looks nice! Out your way it should now be nice-n-toasty during the worst winter can throw at you! ;-)
Do you keep the deuce in a barn, or shelter? Those winds can get pretty serious in NW, PA!
Did you get it from Kublos? Just wondering, [thumbzup]
No idea, but I'm thinking that something like those might be good to use as
under-the-bed, backup lights. Are they military? Plastic, or metal?
Any numbers on them?
Best of luck researching your truck information. When I first started trying to dig up data about my
M35A2, I seemed to hit quite a few 'dead ends' and after several days, became kind of frustrated.
But... after doing more reading of related threads, here on the SteelSoldiers forum... I was...
Hey Joey...
That being the case, ask your phone contact at Fort Dix if you can use the main gate... instead of the commercial gate.
If they will let you go that route, you will not have to get in a long line of commercial vehicles/trucks.
It's worth calling and checking. [thumbzup]
If you could find 2 friends with electric winch/battery sets, then you probably manage
to extract it from that spot. With that much snow on the ground... other vehicles could
end up in the same situation as your 5 ton is in.
I you do decide to connect a winch, make sure the connection point...
If you could get your hands on two (2) powerful electric winch/deep cycle battery sets...
maybe you could hook up to a couple of thick, heavy-duty trees and pull it out across the road.
As long as you follow their rules I'm sure you'll be fine. :-D
On my last visit, the 'head/senior security officer MP' at the commercial gate was seriously doing his job,
as several others joined him in looking over my recently painted deuce! He was the toughest guy I had ever
experienced...
