Thanks, Ahab! :-)
It's available in many places and varies widely in quality and price.
Most auto parts places and hardware stores usually carry it locally.
The 2" strips from WalMart are pretty nice quality. They are red and white.
I used them on my motorcycle helmet and they have lasted...
A few folks have asked me where I got the reflective material for this 'caution plank'
that I built for my M35A2. So here is the information:

I've bought 2" X 18" strips at WalMart (I forget the price), but the most recent buy...
Hummmm... Any chance that you painted a layer of paint between a wire
and a good, clean ground connection? :shrugs: Paint could be an insulator,
especially if you didn't want it to be. (LOL... Murphy lurks in strange places.)
Probably not... but stranger things have happened to me...
It's not you. There has been S-O-M-E-T-H-I-N-G strange going on here lately when
it comes to uploading pics. I've had a very limited amount of success with pics for
the past few weeks. As far as I can tell... there's no rhyme or reason for the difficulties.
I think it's all Murphy's fault...
I've had only hit-or-miss success uploading pics lately. Looks like you are as well.
I can't see any pics with this post, but maybe you've already noticed that.
Still...... the fact that you are getting closer to having a beautiful, old,
BIG GREEN MONSTER in your yard... well I'm super...
Hey Dave... You made that post on the 12th. Any good news now that it's the 16th? :-D
BTW... this (see below) is a good TM to get familiar with, just in case you happen to find an old
deuce in your driveway anytime soon! 8)

I just wanted to add that when I had a problem, much like you have described... I would probably
not have discovered/caused, yes caused it... had I not been in the process of 'restoring the truck'.
My ground connection (near the back of the battery box) was pretty much held against the steel...
Loosescrews brings up a really good question here.
I described my problem in a previous post (#6). My sound was much more a 'wimpy click' sound.
On my civi vehicles, the starter issues usually make more of a forceful "hard clank/thwack when trying to start".
Hope it can be of some help...
You might try rechecking the ground connection right near the battery box.
Your situation sounds similar to something I experienced and that bad ground
was one cause for the starter 'clicking'.
The other was that the accessory switch needs to be turned all the way to the off
position. :oops...
From the pic you posted... looks like you've got a nice truck to play with.
Have fun with it! The learning never ends, but that's an OK thing, because
the folks here will help guide you to discover the information you'll need.
Congrats! [thumbzup]
Was out on the road in the deuce today and somehow managed to survive a few close calls.
Plain and simple... many drivers are 'distracted drivers' and as such... are very dangerous!
I thought I'd post to this thread, started a while back by Jeepsinker, as sort of a reminder
to everyone that...
Hope that you'll soon make some significant progress getting ahead of your 'wheel seal' troubles. [thumbzup]
I know that you've experienced a lot with your MV and overcome some pretty bad situations... especially those
tough, pressure situations you had to deal with while traveling. Not fun...
I think that it's probably just become a personal preference type of thing for some folks. :shrugs:
Still... from my own experience, the placement has been vertical on most of the 2 1/2 ton trucks that I've seen
over the years on military bases. On my last trip up to Fort Dix... that was...
Hi SaltyDeuce...
It looks like the more open road areas were well packed down and very hard and slick!
Was there ever a time when you thought... maybe you'd be stuck and not able to be pulled out, up or free of the snow/ice?
