I wonder if it would get the same amount of looks? I've been thinking that deuces stand out mostly because of their camo(ironic). If it was another color it might look more like a regular commercial truck. Although us deuce owners will always know :D Not that it really matters, just pondering.
My M109A3 camper project. At the point where the inside panels and floor are out. That sub-floor was a nightmare to get out. Only have till the 14th of next month to get it ready for a beach camping trip with friends.
1) Cheap. at least to buy(I've spent far more on parts and maintenance than the actual truck itself).
2) Fun. I've never driven anything more fun than a deuce.
3) Turns most peoples heads and starts a lot of conversations wherever I go.
4) Chicks dig it. I've taken a girl on a date in mine :D...
I got mine sight unseen off of GL from Barstow and had it trucked up. They had 13 up for auction that time IIRC. There was one at French Camp last year when I was looking at some M35s and I never saw it come up for auction. Lately the closest I've seen were at Nellis AFB in Nevada and there were...
Tore out the walls, roof and part of the floor on my M109A3 the past few days for my camper conversion. I'm taking it to the beach next month:) I'm thinking about posting a build thread on the stuff I'm doing to it since I got a lot of inspiration from the other threads here.
Mine did the same thing on that axle. Every wheel on every axle was leaking when I got itaua But they did stop for a while but finally gave up last week and I replaced them. The inner seals kept it all out of the brakes though, they were totally dry. The previous guys that worked on it put all...
My M109A3 did that to me a few times when I would switch between high and low beams, pretty scary. Luckily when I hit the switch again they came back on. I suspect its the dimmer switch.
I tried to not be that type of new guy. I downloaded and read a bunch of TMs so I knew what to look for and how to operate the truck before I even looked at the ones I was gonna bid on :D I studied the TMs even more while waiting for the EUC and it sure made it a lot easier when I got the truck...
Now that I think about it there was enough play for the end of the axle to touch the bottom of the spindle when I took the hub off. Is that a sign of a worn bushing or is it normal? I'm gonna be a master at breaking down these front axles soon.:)
I'll have to check it when I get it apart again and probably just replace it to be sure. Are they difficult to replace? The seals I pulled felt to me like they were a little out of round so that could be the problem.
The installed new boots and seals from OD Iron back in December and the seals failed after a few months so I got around to replacing them again a few weeks ago and one is already leaking againaua I made **** sure I installed everything correctly the second time and the vent is fine so I'm at a...
I got the same ones from them and installed them in December of last year and they are dry rotted already. Funny how the ones on my M109A3 that had sat for what seemed like decades don't have any dry rot:)
Mine was wet-stacking really bad when I first got it since it sat for so long on the GL lot then I had it idling a lot and doing a lot of low speed driving around my ranch while I was dealing with DMV stuff to get it road legal. It got bad enough that it was coming out the stack, running down...
