No fire trucks, but I know of one. A gas deuce with front and rear winches.
We have some M923 trucks left. A couple of nice ones and many not so nice ones. Stop by and look around. Sometimes it is a little like Candyland. 8) Glen
I was going to drive mine this morning and opted for the little Dodge tug, I can park my yard four wheeler behind the tug and still stay in one parking spot. That little Dodge sure is handy in the yard. I did drive the deuce to the liar's club morning coffee Sunday. There was a parking lot full...
After a divorce, I lived the summer and fall in my M1009 and a storage unit. 125 dollars a month, shaved and showered at work. You sound like you have it easy in a deuce. 8-)
Did you catch that it is running a 6-53? It is on M135 running gear, they said it always had plenty of power, I would imagine so! They were confident it would fire up and run with a short pull start. It is pretty unusual with that slab back of the cab, like it was made for a sleeper and never...
I forgot to mention, that second GMC does have a military data plate inside the left door.
This thing is a brute, 35 tons of Clark, powered by a 350 horse small cam Cummins.
GMC Diesel 860
I found this truck much more interesting. Like the last truck, they drove it to its resting spot and shut her down, replaced by newer and faster, not necessarily better.
I did some Google searching and found several photos of 860s with sleepers, none like this one though. I also...
This week's business had me making a short road trip yesterday. When the temperatures approached 110, I quit pulling parts and went to check on these trucks I heard about this week. The report of a deuce with winch had me rolling... I was hoping for a M35, but found a M135 and..... a.... I am...
I have a 42" breaker bar that I stand and jump up and down on, it works pretty good. The surplus gear reduction wrenches are the cat's meow for the dual wheels. Nothing does it better than a quality big impact wrench and about 130 pounds of air pressure.
My Milwaukee 3/4" drive 18 volt impact...
We found that the box is great for tools and that backing it up to the side of a five ton makes working on the five ton much easier. The only way to change batteries in a 939 series...
I won a second deuce after being outbid. When the win notification came out, I was the proud owner of two deuces. That is okay, W/W trucks are hard to find and handy to have.
I trailered mine home behind a Cummins Ram 2500 from Omaha, not enough truck. I can confirm the 8000 pounds after many trips across our scales. Neat little truck, a handful to drive though. Mine is a 91 like my old Dodge 350. Like DH, I would like to power my M1008 with it. I may have to look...
It took a couple of days, but here is a quickie of those brave souls from Utah. 105 degrees plus and they are loading up on tires and parts. Glad they made it home safely. Glen
I am going to be the odd duck here because I just have to ask..... Do you have any oil in your coolant or coolant in your oil. Is the breather neck foamy white? Glen
