    Looking to give my 1028 a 6.5 turbo/4L80E a heart transplant....

Where did you get your kit from I couldn't find that web site? I have only seen them for about $1000! $600 is a good deal!

    Looking to give my 1028 a 6.5 turbo/4L80E a heart transplant....

I did head studs on mine when the head gasket blew, best thing I ever did. I noticed a difference in pitch when the engine is running and it runs cooler, plus when I get my turbo it will be able to hold the head on the block! As for the bottom girdle, most of the performance shops I work with...

M1009 hard power steering and mushy brakes

In my opinion I would suspect the power steering pump is the culprit. A worn steering gear could also have the same effect, but if your steering still feels somewhat firm then most likely that is not the issue. A master cylinder that is about to fail or failing could also cause the same...

replaced fuel filter and now idles rough

Could be a couple of things, first maybe the O-rings in your filter base are starting to allow a vacuum leak causing it to be starved of fuel, or the lift pump is starting to go. I would check those first, then move on too a possible injector failing, usually white smoke is a sign of a weak or...

    M1009 ECU conversion parts

I took the PCM and ECM out of my 2002 dodge cummins and stacked an edge juice w/attitude on top of a diablo for my 6.2 diesel and had 800 h.p. on straight gas!

If you can find an np205 that is a 32 spline input shaft and a round bolt pattern than it will bolt right up, the np208 or np241 will also bolt right up, the np241 is a little bit beefer than the np208.

WOW! nice find! As for the linkage and shift indicator, the stock one on your cucv will work. If you want it to read overdrive than 3,2,1 LMC sells the overdrive indicator for about 20 bucks, will fit in your stock shift indicator location and is the origanol look as well! Is the transfer...

jp-8 and wmo in 6.2.s military test

I was up to a 70% wmo and 30% #2 diesel (pump diesel fuel). it ran fine but starting to lose a lot of power. I should have been cutting it with kero or gas. Thanks for posting the article!

jp-8 and wmo in 6.2.s military test

I work with fuels on a daily basis, jp-8 or jet fuel is identical to kerosene, only difference is the jet fuel is filtered about 20 times before it is sold to the loading rack facility.

    Looking to give my 1028 a 6.5 turbo/4L80E a heart transplant....

If it where me I would just rebuild the 6.2, if you are dead set on the 4l80e than try and find a really cheap donor truck for the harness and trans. Dropping the 6.5 and 4l80e is not a bad idea either, you will have the 6.2 out for the rebuild so just dropping the 6.5 in would be much faster...

Strange Clattery Sound from engine at acceleration?

I hear the sound almost all the way through video except when your idling, it gets faster/worse with rpm. I would say check torque convertor to flex-plate bolts, flex-plate to crank bolts, or a rod knock, it is too slow of a knock and to load to be a valve. definitely can hear a clatter-knock...

if he gets the whole donor truck with the trans and motor, than all that is needed is the wiring harness and computer from the donor truck to control transmission.

mechanical fuel pump removal on 6.2L

As for your pump, why remove it? It is blocking of the hole just fine if it is not leaking oil out the gasket then just leave it, leaving the pump on won't hurt anything.

mechanical fuel pump removal on 6.2L

If electronic pumps and other car parts are so great, then why do we have so many recalls on nearly ever car manufacture, example Honda, Toyota, GM, Chevy, Chrysler, etc, etc! Most of these racalls are on electric items on the vehicle! How often did they have a recall on a mechanical parts...

Upgrading a CUCV's max towing capacity?

Yes the old trucks are just as good as the new, my dually's data plate says the rear axle max gvw is 8900 lbs and the front is 6900 lbs. I used to own a 2002 dodge 3/4 ton cummins, the rear axle max gvw was 7500 lbs and the front was 6500 lbs. So I am pretty sure our cucv's will handle a...

Upgrading a CUCV's max towing capacity?

I towed 18,000 lbs. with my 87 chevy 1ton 4x4 four door dually. The old worn out 454 and turbo 400 worked hard, but it did it with out braking anything, like the frame or axles! The trailer brakes didn't work, the brakes on my dually stopped the load just fine from 55 mph to a stop, if your...
