"I have read that most of the noise comes from the engine itself"
How true
My current mep-003 has the sound shield ( A.S.K.) is soooo much more quieter the my last Mep-003 that did not have it
I never tried it but some of the guys on another forum ran heavy bungie cord(s) from the brake petal to the bottom spoke of steering wheel to help "entice" the wheel to go back/stay on center while towing/turning
I stopped in lowes and home depot for 1/2" grade 8 lockwashers for my axle hubs, HD wanted .51cents ea and lowes .31cents ea. As mentioned went to tractor supply and grabbed a handfull of ea, 5/16",3/8" & 1/2" (3/4lb ) for just over $3
As mentioned the wheel cyls on the m37 have a stepped bore, the larger bore/cup faces the rear of the vehicle. Front and rears are the same but you need left and right sides
Stretch
even though the TM doesn't mention having to loosen them I did put a 3/4 drive breaker w/4' cheater on them and the dang things are stuck tight
Alright I finished up the rear brakes and seals and moved to replace the bad rear spring u-bolts and from there do the spring seat pivot bearings., Well I had to cut off the u-bolts PIA but now I can't even knock out the bolts as they are so swollen and on top of that I can't get the spring pack...
Gilliespie states that its paint has a synthetic base stock ( what ever that means) but its really just a alkalyd enamel ( aka indutrial paint ) the beauty of it is that its a very forgiving paint to shoot and yes you can shoot it over (prepped ) enamel/carc paint jobs
