Well since finding that my rear spring U-bolts were rusted in half my deuce is unsafe to drive so I pulled the (rotted) bed off today ( new flower bed) and will start to get things done and boy the list is long....some day I'll learn...maybe!!
Ditto what VT said
I had the same problem when I rewired my 1954,M-37 , the early M-37's ( 1951-2) had the supression filter mounted on the firewall ( later 37's had them mounted in the dist base). Other then adding a extension everything else should be the same. Tell your friend that while he's...
I also used the military sleeping bag pads (2) and contact cement. Colemans has them for $6.99ea
I need to find some tan/sand colored ones for my current deuce
Both my 003A's came with this military fording fuel cap,I also had this same cap on my M-37 which means it will fit all the M-series vehicle tanks and vice/versa, just that a few of them don't require a vented cap.I don't know if it was a fluke that both my gensets had (on/off) vented caps or if...
Continental aircraft and engineering company (CAE) Trouble shooting manual (1968 ) for the LDS-465-1 Multifuel states 170-185bhp at 2600rpm's and 440ft/lbs torque at 1800rpm
As you can see in pic,the a.s.k. puts alot of restriction on the exhaust/cooling airflow( obviously to no ill affect), so as mentioned a good unrestricted/ducted intake (cool air) along with a good exhaust escape and you should be covered
Early m-37's (1951-54) did not come with turn signals. If you have a 51-52 year M-37 its possible you still have the old 2 plug light switch,If this is so then it has nothing to do with turn signals, it was just a different type wiring system the mil used and did away with for the single plug...
:ditto:
Also just a FYI ( incase you don't already know ) you can adjust the voltage by removing that little threaded hex plug there in the bottom of your picture and insert a small straight blade and turn the screw underneath to increase or decrease voltage
Have you checked out/joined the FFCMVPA Welcome to the First Florida Chapter Military Vehicle Preservation Association
I'm still a member even though I've moved to Ga, as it has a great bunch of members and events
I wanted to change out the oil bath filter on mine for a paper filter, figured it would breath better to make for a better burn., Also VPW use to sell a performance/econo cam for the 230 ($$).
I think egge machine sold them also http://www.egge.com/
Good point on the carc
My truck was not carc,d ( something I looked for when buying) it still had the 1970's 4 color camo pattern. I also forgot to mention that I used Gilliespie paint to shoot it. I did paint my Lightweight with single part carc ( 686A), it was wicked stuff to be around and...
Harbor freight 2qt sprayer, 6" DA sander,5hp compressor. Rent a 4000psi pressure washer for the day and degrease every nook and cranny, sand the cab and front clip, prime and paint. Thats the readers Digest version on how I did my first deuce ( see link below )
M-45A2 B,D&A pictures from...
52mph /2200-2300rpm going from Tactical trucks place in Virginia to So.Fla ( 995miles) with a 8000lb purification body mounted, got 10mpg. To me that seemed to be the sweet spot with the engine/drivetrain. The great part about going 52mph down the highway is you don't have to worry about traffic...
OK RT so you have a 37 that was delivered 8 days before the new year.
T245 also happens to be the engineering symbol/designation for the M-37. What are the rest of the vin #'s on the frame
