I redid my first deuce from early 4 pattern camo ( and water purification body) to solid 24087 now on my current deuce it will be either 686 desert or desert camo also

Just a FYI
I've been told by many of a truck mechanic to never use a impact on anything connected to bearings as you could damage the cups/races from the hammer/chatter effect of the impacts, and torquing the pinion nut sets the preload for the pinion bearings.
I did put a cheater bar on...
While waiting on more brake parts for my deuce I decided to change the pinion seal(s), can anyone tell me what the torque setting is for the pinion nut on the drive flange, or which TM to find it in as I already did a search and went through the TM 209-20s.

Unlike generators, Alternators are constant output so I'd say about 700rpms or more to set. I set mine ( on my last deuce also) at 27.5v at idle (750-800rpms) which puts the indicator on the gauge right in the little box thats located in the green zone where they recommend it to be.

On the 60amp mil alt , over by the wire hookups there is a small threaded allenhead plug that you remove and then insert a small straight blade screwdriver into a slotted screw which you can turn to raise or lower the regulator output.
Gvw is different then net weight but if they want the net weight of the truck besides Pt Everglades there is a scale off Oaks road and 441 ( down by the incenerator), its a privately owned trucking company but its scale is certified. I just can't for the life of me remember the company name but...
