Just spoke to Jeff and he too is free Saturday. If she lays down around us, you at least have help. Hope you have a great trip! He said his tow bar is available by the way.... Glen
I took Saturday off, so I will be available for the Kansas part of your journey. I hope all goes well for you. I thought about riding along, but that would put us twice as far away from my truck if we needed it. Hopefully somebody in Missouri will chip in to give you a little more breathing...
It is so much easier to drive and park than my deuce. My boys like riding in the bed of the 08. It is nice to be able to go a month without stopping for fuel. They are simple and cheap to fix, great transportation....
I vote to keep it 24 volt, but that is just me. The ability to jump other military vehicles is a plus for me and the only thing that is not 12 volt is the starting system. Glen
The boys and I really enjoy our M1009, 65 is about as fast as we run it. It has been a great vehicle, my son has claimed it, he will be 18 in July, so it will be time for him to be finding his own vehicle to drive. He has a Saturn, but it has slowly been melting into the driveway for over a year...
If it needs a battery, it will probably take two. That is one thing you do not want to save money on, you can get by with a lot smaller battery, but these things take some juice to crank cold, due to the glow system and the high compression. I have been putting the highest cranking Group 31s I...
We are close to square now, the M1009 is in his name. I gained a friend and a lot of knowledge. Many of us have some rough spots in our life's highway, I know I have been there a couple of times myself. I am thankful for this forum through which I have made a few friends. Glen
That is exactly right. As long as you ars not using the truck commercially, 17.50 a year for property taxes. The tag does not expire. They used to be tax free on antique vehicles.
We shoot at the National Guard range, it is beautiful out there. Not many places can a guy shoot 800 meters up hill. We shoot at the 5.56 range, 600 meters max, it is downhill. Had range control follow me in, they were not expecting any units today. 8-) No unit, just some old guy in an old deuce...
I got interrupted before I could finish. I left the DMV and headed for a soda. A Toyota pickup was approaching me head on. We were on a four lane street and I wanted to turn left, so I stopped. A Freightliner pulling a 53' box trailer was coming up behind me. Speed limit is 40 and he is doing...
I finally got around to registering my deuce. It went smoothly with a printout of the auction page ands the signed paid invoice. I wanted to get AWOL as a personalized tag but somebody beat me to it. I ordered OLDCU instead. CU being the chemical term for copper. It was incredible easy. Glen
That is a nice looking rig, she would fit in quite well around my place. My youngest son could not care less about my deuce. My oldest son wants one, he loves to drive it. I hope you enjoy yours like I do mine!
I backed my deuce in for the first oil change.. pulled the plug just in time for a 45 mph wind gust. I now have a nice green with black splotches camo shirt. I also have a circle where the grass died around my drain pan. Deuce life is wonderful! It blew oil to the inside of the left front wheel...
I took the AMTRAK to Salt Lake City and drove one home, but I knew it was a runner. It was a wonderful trip. I also picked up one in Jefferson City and drove it home, but I knew they drove it in. I would have to tow the one you bought.
