My driveway is almost full, good thing I have a back driveway and another street access behind the garage! Besides, I have friends that are pretty good about free storage. I am wishing I had a little more driveway though.... That is my pack, short eight trailers and a M715.... Glen
Excellent thread in the five ton forum!

Do a search for super singles or 11.00 tires on a deuce or 395s and you should find many threads with both sides voicing their opinions and experiences. Deuce tires would also work.
They have a fast idle and a timing advance that goes with it. I know my first M1008 had a lot higher initial idle than the other three CUCVs I have do. The main thing is to not drop the hammer hard cold.
No waiting when warm. A lot of guys let them idle until the fast idle kicks off. I am always running late and have no patience for waiting on one to warm up, so you will see me creeping down the street, waiting for the fast idle to kick off. I just drive really easy, we are talking not over 25...
You will need your driver's license, they no longer require insurance or registration. The easiest way is to take the 18 exit off of I 70 and go north. There is an Interstate like exit ramp that is marked Commercial Delivery or similar. Drive up to the guard shack and stop, they will come out...
The deuce made right at 11 pulling the M1008 home from Rapid City, I am curious how it will do empty. If the fuel prices keep going up, I may run down in the M1009 and take you up on your more than generous offer. Glen
That is kind of funny, I responded to your last year's post a few seconds ago. I would like to come, can somebody give me coordinates for the meeting location? Glen
Are you guys planning another parade rally this year? I am relatively certain my deuce will make the trip there and back... Augusta is much closer, but it ould be nice to meet another group of guys. Glen
The deuce forum would probably have been a good spot, but we need an event close enough for Kansas boys to attend. Last year the Kansas Museum of Military History in Augusta put on an open house that was free to the public and a bunch of vehicles came in for the day. I plan to go down again this...
I advanced the timing a little more on my M1008 today, it had no rattle, at least now it sounds and smells like a diesel when it runs. I cleaned out all of the tools, filters and liquids out of the cab and bed that I hauled to South Dakota for my deuce recovery. Changed the oil and filter just...
I did not drive the deuce yesterday, the first day it did not go someplace since it arrived home. I drove my M1008 to work today, unless something comes up, the boys and I might go to the lake tomorrow.... Hate to have the old girl feeling unloved....
I expect my M1008 will break 30 mpg on this tank of fuel, but then my deuce flat towed it over 700 miles too. I have not fueled yet, but I am looking forward to this crazy high mileage figure I am going to get!
55 is faster than I run my 6.2, but some guys say they do it all the time. I...
My M1008 got a new set of injectors, a little advance on the injection pump, a new fuel filter, oil change, and now I need to replace those two too small group 24 batteries that were in it when I bought it. The old girl starts good normally, but when it was 18 below up in SD she failed to crank...
Sounds good!! That is a really nice looking truck. I watched the videos earlier on the phone and could not make out the air gauge, my deuce's air alarm seldom goes off if I drive it every couple of days, it will not normally bleed down under 75 pounds overnight. I had to wait to post until I...
No argument there, look at the Mog in your avatar or any old Toyota Land Cruiser for example. I guess when I read crane I equate it to moving weight and the truck is the counterweight. When I worked for a crane rental company, we had a fleet of small cranes mounted on twin screw Ford 900 trucks...
