Heck this is a jewel compared to my COE! I am building a truck from bent fenders, hood, grill, 2 axle housings and 1/3 of the original frame...LOL!! Thank God I don't live in the country as I would buy it for a future resto! That being said I would really feel like a vulture picking at bones for...
It seems like a 211 with a fully parted out M135 and a sprinkling of NOS parts. As such it seems like a decent deal at 2500 CND. Alas I was hoping you'd get it and sell me the M135 hubs
Welcome!
I am glad you followed my advice! The guys here know there stuff!
As Plowboy told me, and a reminder get the technical manuals at the top of this forum and read through them, they helped answer my questions..Thanks Again Plowboy!
An pictures tell 1000 words, this would help them to...
I wish it was 6 months from now. Working on my 1943 cabover and have to be further along before I take on another...but was wanting an early deuce with a crane..really bad timing :-(
The Answer to the tapped stud issue
Thanks to Plowboy for getting me to download the TMs, which surprisingly have some part numbers also!
Again I want to Thank everyone who contributed to this thread!
As far as the hubs go (according to the TM references) SOME M-211 had dual tapped faces for...
Again Thanks for the replies! If we could go the M35 route life would be easier for me as That is more than enough for the bigger rims and tires I got.
Could I get a better picture of the front page? Please.
Thanks Guys!
I guess I/we need to wait till somebody out there that needs to do a...
Thanks for the replies,
What we need to do to prove the "flipability" of the 211 hubs is to get a picture of said hubs and see tapped axle flange holes on each side. Good info NDT on the front drums being the same as the rears on the 135, the front drums on the G-506 are different from the...
Thought I would condense this down some to make it a quick reference, I will leave the rest of the thread below
NDT put this out

Plowboy posted this page showing the "back, rear brake drum"
I then posted this:
Tapo pulled a front hub for us off a 211...
I can help you with a picture of an NV4500 which is an OK transmission for light trucks, but I will call your attention to the replacement, the black one. Downfalls of the NV are carbon fiber sychros that require special oil and the original mainshaft spins 5th gear off.
Rustystud I wished I had run into you before I spent hours and hours researching these axles..probably should start another thread, but I want to run this by you as these axles are the weak link.
I am building the rear only at first. It's a lack of enough money thing. The worst problem is the...
Thanks for the replies guys,
You guys have answered most of my questions, the biggest one left is how short the drag link can be made. Which seems to be a try and see situation. If I can mount the box a little (even just 2 inches) more rearward the radiator and intercooler would fit nicer and...
I had been able to post pictures, but last night it was giving invalid URL, that is a direct link to the photobucket picture. I ckecked it on2 other computers that I don't use for photobucket and it didn't need to run a special program to view them. So no linking pictures?
OK I tried again, I...
Hi Wreckerman,
I hope to actually, Haven't figured it out as the front grill with a winch added to the front would have to go straight up atleast 4-6 inches before it tilts over or continues to go straight up. I want to place the "heavy metal first so I can see what I need to clear
Thanks for...
HF542996 Power Steering conversion geometry questions, 1943 G-7123
Ok folks I am calling on the collective wisdom here to help me do this conversion right the first time.
Why not run of the mill, It's not an M35, but a G-7123 NN WWII Chevrolet cabover.
Criteria of the build in general to get...
Unless you aren't going to haul or tow anything, those axles will be ok. Otherwise I would rob the axles out of F700. They are FDS 75 Rockwells and later years had 6 x 8.75 disc brakes
