Reassembled the oil cooler and got it reinstalled then Robbed some silicone hoses off the 925 I’ve been parting out to replace the tired rubber hoses. She’s almost ready to begin flushing

Alright boys, it’s time for a Coolant Tech-talk! I’m working on a M816 replacing the Oil Cooler, but this knowledge is going to apply to ANY military vehicle and some civilian rigs too.
Let’s talk about coolant, all MV’s run green coolant (ethelyne Glycol) and most older civilian rigs run it...

It absolutely will not interfere with truck starting or operation, it’s only an on-board diagnostic system for testing.

Starting to clean the truck up, does anyone have info on this civilian style tow kit? I’ve only seen it issued on the Australian 816s and believe it’s a Holmes tow kit

As you all know, I bought a M543A2 a few months ago, and when a M816 fell into my lap for literal Pennie’s I just couldn’t resist. This weekend I finally drug the old M816 home and started swapping the NDT’s from it to the M543A2 and the G177s over to the M816. Good exercise! The Wrecker traded...
Spotted we didn’t have an active thread for this, so I’m launching one! Welcome in alllll your wrecker friends and post up.

Thanks! Yes it’s a relatively moderate grade degreaser/cleaner i like to pressure wash my trucks with. Put it 50/50 in a pump at sprayer, let it sit 5 minutes and have at it. 100% for mud stained tires and engine bay

It takes exactly 1 can of Kroil, 87 cuss words and 6 5.0 Milwaukee batteries (darn people don’t know how to grease their nuts!) to change 10 ndts and 10 g177s between wreckers. The new 816 made its way home and the 543a2 is getting picked up to head to its new home tomorrow

I can’t remember if i shared my paint job for the 1123 here or not, but here she was. Pressure washed with purple power, any rust spots neutralized, sprayed using my MTVR as a dry clean air source, and shot through a harbor freight $20 gun.

I went through this selling a non-title 83 gmc to a guy in NC, it was a nightmare. If you think it’ll greatly increase value, do a Vermont title (you don’t have to live there as long as they haven’t closed this loop hole) register it, recurve title in the mail, then go to your local DMV to...
Just dug through that manual and towing capacity isn’t mentioned. However I can say, my MK23 cargo truck has a data plate for 20,000 towed glued to the door however i believe verbiage may not be detailed enough. The pintle is reinforced much better than a M939 series truck, and I’ve personally...
No. Simply won’t happen, I fought a battle years ago and lost. File the sf97 in your records at your house, and simply go register the rig with a bill of sale filled out correctly, it’ll be issued a non-title registration
Edit for clarification: anything older than 1985 in georgia does not...
