I discovered the hard way that while they look fine on the outside, the corrosion is rampant on the inside, under the sheathing, and providing extreme voltage resistance.

Not all starters are created equal.
You usually get what you pay for quality wise.
But even with a good name brand that cost a lot, that doesn’t mean it won’t go up in smoke that quickly either.
But the chances are much more remote than the really cheap ones out there.
I have seen these generators laying on their side, upside down and everything in between at the auction yards.

That looks to me like an old agricultural trailer.
You can tell the fenders were once much more of a flowing design than any military trailer would ever be.
No tie down hooks or even remnants of them.
Clearly it can handle a 500-1000lb log without any issues.
Worth saving in my opinion...

Mounted a 250 gallon IBC tote on my Raytheon prototype Fire Finder Trailer.

Actually it’s for wetting the embers and not fighting the flames directly. Not enough water or volume for that.
