    Radiator Core Thickness?

Your 2 row (core) sounds like the issue to me. The original is 4 row. The 2 row simply doesn’t have the capacity to get rid of the extra heat. The original design brass/copper radiator is still available. Expensive, but available. My radiator shop had it within a few days. Was an exact...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I have heard about quite a number of the Yukons parts failing. I just bought an Eaton locker for my 98 Suburban. Stayed away from Yukon parts due to so many failing

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Oiled the hood springs and door hinges. I keep the hood springs almost dripping with oil so I don’t have to worry about a bent hood. Pretty much the same with the door hinges Also oiled the tailgate. Even dumped some oil to run down into the inside cab corners. A spot that is proven to...

    AC60G Glow Plug Failure

As already stated, hook up the coolant sensor. I replaced mine when I first bought truck. I think the new style is one wire? (Not sure, been a minute or two) Glow plugs still cycle as intended and do the afterglow once or twice after it’s started, if it’s really cold outside. Yes. 12v is...

Gov Planet fee increase for bidders

GL starting bid was $25. They also had a warehouse in Oklahoma City I miss them also. GovPlanet closed the warehouse and started bids ridiculously high. Yet items still sell. Rumor has it someone leaked GLs bid amount (to Richie Bros) for the contract and Richie was able to win. No...

Gov Planet fee increase for bidders

Sounds about par for the course with them. Last thing I bought they tried to do a switch. Item I was paying for was different that what I bid on. (Portable shelter in an orange crate). What I was “paying for” was the same thing, same brand and all, just a less expensive model that wasn’t...

Gov Planet fee increase for bidders

Every trailer I bought from GovPlanet had a “Diesel tax” added. $10 I believe it was. Had to call them every time and explain that the trailers I bought do not have engines. “Whoops…..sorry” was the attitude from the staff. Same thing for my Tax Exempt status. Wonder how many people...

    AC60G Glow Plug Failure

My M1008A1 is factory stock. Resistor system all original and works great. I run the AC60Gs Have been for almost 9 years and have had only 1 glow plug go bad after about 5 years. Part itself failed and not due to resistor failure. I did replace them all since their inexpensive enough. Only...

Trailer no title/sf97 form what are my options (Utah)

So does Utah require a title and registration for that size private use trailer? A regular notarized Bill of Sale will transfer ownership unless Utah requires otherwise.

M107 series water buffalo color scheme

Old movies like “Strategic Air Command” are a good reference for old Air Force Military equipment and how they were painted back in the day. That particular movie shows a lot of vehicles and aviation ground support equipment. I’ve never seen a dedicated AF water buffalo either. In person or in...

    M101a1 trailer rebuild

I’m sure you’re aware that these trailers are not designed to dump. Yes I know it can be done as you’ve shown, but there is a part that eventually breaks and you will not find the part. I do not know off hand the name of the part. Multiple threads about that known issue.

M1022 Gichener Mobilizer, worth the money?

Rarely are they 100% complete according to threads about people buying them. They will usually “look” complete and you buy it. Only to find out that the one somewhat critical part (hypothetical) is gone and you will never find one. Units are really good of taking unobtainable parts like that...

    Runaway MEP-003a !!!

Could the engine be coked up a bit? Not knowing its history, I would run it at almost full or at full load for hours to burn off any deposits, some of which could be making the rings stick. Seafoam can also be added to oil to clean internals. The coating on the exhaust sounds like it wasn’t...

1984 cucv Engine oil type 6.2l diesel

Correct It’s 15w-40 If you look at the regular 10w-40 on the back label, it will say it’s fine to use in diesels. I use the Delvac in all my Diesels year around and have never had any issues. Ironically, I use Rotella “diesel” motor oil in all my gasoline 4 cycle small engines. Zero issues.

    Source for New M1008 Radiator?

They still make the copper/brass radiator. Expensive but literally drop in. It's exactly like the original Any radiator shop will be able to order it for you. I don't have the part number in front of me but I showed it in an earlier thread a few years ago. It's been flawless for years. No issues.

Why is my M1008 floor getting so hot?

Mine did the same thing. As mentioned above, bare metal floors radiate a lot of heat. Every vehicle does it, it’s just ours are not insulated with carpet on top. I use semi truck mud flaps of different sizes cut to fit and reduce the radiant effect. They work extremely well and I don’t have...
