The CUCV with the hook going through the bumper itself just has a backing plate on it, nothing going to the frame of the truck. It's actually the plate from the outside of a CUCV pickup bumper that has the two carriage bolts. That's behind the bumper upside down and then since the bumper is...
At the NJ show I picked up a mint windshield frame for $20 so I put that on today. I think I'm going to use the headlight panels off of a 1967 truck instead of the 1966 panels that allow for high or low headlights. While putting on a replacement hood I noticed the truck has an LDS IP. Not...
I make oilboard stencils in various sizes.

The smaller wheel isn’t that bad without power steering. Obviously it’s more work than the stock 20” wheel but I’d definitely try it if you want a little more room. You may have to either borrow a military wheel puller or make your own to pull the wheel without breaking it, sometimes they can...
I like it. I'll need to lift the box back off sometime to clean up and paint the frame, maybe I'll swap the landing leg out for the crank up version too.
That should tow great behind your Colorado. The surge brakes are great when they're working and they're not bad to fix up if they're not. You can lock it out if the shock is bad and the hitch is slamming back and forth while you stop.
If you're looking for the side racks you might want to...
Started taking apart a couple trailers today. One is an m101a1 with a very nice newer style cargo box and the other an m116a2 with the heavier duty frame. The cargo box is going on the a2 frame of course, should end up being a pretty decent m101a2.
The operator's manual from the 1970s says the max towed load on highway is 6000lbs. I wouldn't want to tow nearly that much on a public road today. An m37 is gutless enough already and the brakes aren't up to the task in my opinion (I'm assuming the manual expects no trailer brakes since...
Sounds like they might be the 25 amp generators with the separate voltage regulators. Later m151s (a2s at least) had the same 60 amp alternator as the m35a2s and many other trucks.
This morning I was looking through a 1979 list of MVPA member owned vehicles and noticed a gentleman in El Paso, Texas had a 1957 xm389 "Hawk Missile Trailer", S/N 4.
Looking again at the dataplate on our trailer the contract number on it can be found in a 1960s Defense Appropriations Hearing...
Does anyone going to the show have any Gama Goat parts for sale? Looking for things like a winch kit, cargo cover and bows, exhaust, etc.
Also still looking for m101 fiberglass racks and an m36 long wheel base side rack.
Is there anyone still on the forum that has an m104 with the wood gates? I could use some measurements of the hardware so I can make something as close to correct as possible.
