I have one with the exact same problem, not sure what caused it and I haven’t had a chance to look at it. I’ll be keeping an eye on this thread; hopefully the damage isn’t too bad.
I didn't get time over the winter to do a single thing to the dump truck.
I did figure out that the TV episode it was pictured in is from 1991.
I also found a shipping receipt for it that shows the first time it came to the yard was in 1995. It was bought as a package deal with an m108 crane...
Bantam made jeep trailers during WWII, and then after they made trailers for the civilian market. Those trailers had tailgates and a ball hitch instead of the pintle. Those are both the same width as the m100, while the m416 is a little bit wider. There were some other oddball trailer...
Around 1978 (not 68) m416 trailer production changed over to the m416a1 and had surge brakes instead of the rotating hitch. It's pretty much the same as a regular m416 in design and dimensions, but there are small differences to tell them apart besides the big hitch setup like the center...
There probably won't be one of a CUCV but there will be one of the Dodge m880 pickup. It might be listed in the TM section here on the site. You'll have to find the book for MERDC 4 color camo, not the newer 3 color camo book.
The camo on these vehicles is known as MERDC, it was first used in the 1970s. From info in TC 5-200 I believe the color scheme is "gray desert" and the 4 colors are sand, field drab, earth yellow, and black. By the time your m1028a2 was in use the 4 color camo was replaced with 3 color camo...
This thread seems slow this year, anyone else going?
I'll be there vending as usual, some of the stuff I can bring down with me:
m35 gasser radiator, NOS m54a2 multifuel radiator, NOS m35a2 radiator, 20mm ammo cans, tow bar chain clamps, m275 tractor deckplates, hmmwv 2 man cargo covers, cucv...
Read this thread, halfway through is the procedure. It's not difficult at all.

You should take a look at the operator's book, there's a lot of good info in there...
The snow finally melted enough for the m59 to make it out of its winter parking space (no working 6x6 right now). Other than that I don't see any work getting done on deuces in the near future.:-(
I haven't had time to do much CUCV work lately but I did pick up a not so common piece, a CUCV II brushguard.
Makes me miss my old CUCV II. :-( Pay no attention to the license plate please.
"Camouflage nets cover vehicles and equipment of Mobile Inshore Undersea Warfare Unit 210 during the joint military training exercise Ocean Venture '92."
Missing the gin poles and maybe even the headache rack.
