Wood is a tried and true substrate for custom work. Covering with fiberglass and then leather or pleather is a widely accepted customization technique.
I think this is excellent work… but I might consider knocking off all the corners. They will cause pain and they will tear through most coverings.
I had something similar, and it turned out that my smart box Genius Box was not entirely screwed in properly on both the hood and dashboard sides.
At other times, I have seen people have problems because they are not in either park or neutral.
I am certain that you have done it however I would...
Forgot to post this. On my way to work on my M1165 in November, amongst the tens of thousands of close friends that I traveled with, I met a legend. Great guy. Easily approachable. Totally supports his fans! Totally makes himself accessible for pics.
Just read up on the EcoHubs. Website is solid BUT YT videos really make the units understandable. The hubs are elegant in their simplicity. Brilliant.
I like the idea of removing the parasitic outer spider gears in favor of direct drive. Seems more practical than 3.07 front and rear gears based...
I will ship her 500 miles to LittleRock CA.
There I will work with my partner in crime (and the original “jobless loser”), Eric HummerH1.
This unit is destined to be a camper, relief vehicle, and I will purchase a several hundred gallon water container and Honda water pump to turn it into a...
I appreciate the offer but you won’t have time. I’d love to air up that dead tire. I’d like to know if she holds air. It’s will make getting her onto and off of a large trailer a bit less complicated.
Not sure what I might want pictures of, too ignorant to ask at this point in time.
I can make the plug with 1/8 inch steel and my plasma cutter or maybe I should just go sloppy with a square 4’x4’ steel panel of cold roll, like I did on my M1165. I have square 1/8 Aluminum sheet for several of my flying nun roof M1151 slantbacks.
Then I gotta start asking about those hub things (???) you all are using to increase top speed and comfort.
Will also fit a water tank and sprayer for those pesky Cali wildfires. Figure it should be able to hold a few hundred gallons of Adam’s Ale, for purposes of firefighting.
And thank you...
Well, I need a bigger vehicle for some work pulling larger trailers AND camping and probably doing some emergency type volunteer work.
Purchased a 13,000 mile Cali FMTV. Not running. Bent driveshaft.
Time to cry. Then read TM’s and post here.
I own several HMMWV and an H1. I guess I’m...
RWH is the king. My comments are general and not specific to HMMWV.
If superficial, use a short Dremmel to rip a slot across the top and a stubby flathead screwdriver to remove.
If deep, use an aluminum or copper pipe to protect threads and flux core wire to build up a neck and then weld that...
Rear steer is not that difficult, and now that it is appearing in GM vehicles there’s a good chance that you will be able to obtain those parts in several months as they begin to show up in junkyards.
You can also review rear steer from other vehicles listed on the Internet with instructions on...
