    Allison M916 + Mk48 Cab = 6x6 "FEMTT"

As you know, there is always a way.....but this one was in a bad rollover.....there is suspension damage and the frame is bent.... Being, that parts are almost impossible to find for these trucks.....it would be very difficult.... :( Soni

    Allison M916 + Mk48 Cab = 6x6 "FEMTT"

Well....at this point it is more like a 5 ton.....there are about 2 tons of stuff missing off of it...lol Sadly it's 7 ton residue only, it is wrecked and badly cannibalized.....they are great trucks though....Maybe some day we can buy them.... Soni

    Allison M916 + Mk48 Cab = 6x6 "FEMTT"

Used the Flat-Bed Module Today.... I got to use the unfinished flat-bed module today to haul a big welding table and some tires and axles to my house. As I mentioned, I was going to shorten the Mk48 bed down to 12', but now I'm thinking about leaving it the full 16'....It seems to work great...

    Allison M916 + Mk48 Cab = 6x6 "FEMTT"

I got them from a company in Florida: CHASSIS KING INC. Soni

    Allison M916 + Mk48 Cab = 6x6 "FEMTT"

That is what I thought, but I was told that AW-46 hydraulic fluid is designed to "SUSPEND" water. Do you, or anybody here know if this type of fluid will still let the water settle to the bottom, if you let it sit long enough? Just wondering..... Soni

    Allison M916 + Mk48 Cab = 6x6 "FEMTT"

Started Work on the Flat-bed Module..... So since I got a pallet of corner castings delivered last week, I started on the flat-bed module today. First I had to remove it from the 'donor' Mk17. This went pretty smooth and after setting it on the back of the FEMTT, it looks like it will be an...

CBR Metalworks M920 hauler 'Mad Max'

The ratio on the M920 is 6.17 to 1. Soni

    Allison M916 + Mk48 Cab = 6x6 "FEMTT"

I'm using drill bits. It seems that they hold up better then the cutters I tried. On a double frame there is a layer of rust/corrosion in between the inner and outer frame rails. This crap is pretty rough to drill trough and the drill bits just fair better! Also it is important to be able to...

CBR Metalworks M920 hauler 'Mad Max'

CBR, The gear ratio in the Mk15's axles is 5.43 to 1. As far as I could investigate it, the axles in the LVS are made by Eaton specifically for Oshkosh and that is the only ratio available for them. So using the M920 axles on the Oshkosh LVS suspension would be the way to go..... Soni

    Allison M916 + Mk48 Cab = 6x6 "FEMTT"

As mentioned already, there are different ways to go about the clean out of a contaminated hydraulic system. The way I cleaned out the FEMTT's system is in my opinion the easiest way and gets about 95 percent of the contaminated fluid out: I started with making sure that all cylinders were...

    Allison M916 + Mk48 Cab = 6x6 "FEMTT"

It's actually Working!!! So today started with a "slight setback".... In braking apart two hydraulic fittings to tie in the new circuits, I discovered that the hydraulic fluid in the FEMTT was totally contaminated with WATER!!! After some investigation, I traced the mess to a bad gasket under...

    Allison M916 + Mk48 Cab = 6x6 "FEMTT"

John, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but after pricing all the "Stained Lexan" that would be needed for the "Air Force Academy Chapel Module", this project (like so many other potentially great military projects) fell victim to spending cut-backs! This is mostly due to the projected...

    Allison M916 + Mk48 Cab = 6x6 "FEMTT"

Almost Done With The Hydraulic System...... Had some time today, and got the quick connect couplers installed for the dump bed and self recovery winch's hydraulic system. The way it is plumbed, the remote control lever in the cab can be used to operate the dump hydraulics or it can be used to...

    Allison M916 + Mk48 Cab = 6x6 "FEMTT"

John, That is an awesome design! It could just lay flat on the 'module' and I could use the "Ship in a bottle" mast erection system to pull it all up and deploy it! So.....does it have to be all glass though? :) Soni

    Allison M916 + Mk48 Cab = 6x6 "FEMTT"

Of course! Oh and I could use the crane to deploy the fold down steeple.... :) Thanks to all for the great (or not so great) suggestions! Now.....seems like all these "Ideas" are no good without the visual aid of some computer generated pics of what these "modules" would actually look like on...

    Allison M916 + Mk48 Cab = 6x6 "FEMTT"

Still Missing More Hydraulic Fittings..... :( Thanks guys! I'm really amazed/glad to see that some of you are still interested in my long drawn out project! Sometimes I do wonder if I go to far in to the details and might bore people.... Anyway, it helps me to be able to post...

    Allison M916 + Mk48 Cab = 6x6 "FEMTT"

More Winch and Dump Bed Stuff..... Not as much progress tonight as had I wanted, but I got the winch mounted to the front bracket and got the valve for the dump bed bolted to it's new mount. Tomorrow I will start with making the hoses to get the hydraulics for the bed all hooked up. Here are...

Thanks! I will certainly try that.....I did not realized, that you can still drag and drop them, once they are in the attachment section. Soni

    Allison M916 + Mk48 Cab = 6x6 "FEMTT"

More Self Recovery Winch..... I'm currently very busy with customer projects, so progress is a bit slow since my 'FEMTT time' is limited to the evenings. Today, I was able to install the front mount of the 20,000# DP winch to the frame. This was not as easy as I had hoped. In order to keep...

    Allison M916 + Mk48 Cab = 6x6 "FEMTT"

I'm telling you.....once you install a crane on your truck.....you can't figure out, how you ever got around without one!!!! 8) Soni
