My top right doghouse clip doesn’t work and never has. I’ve fixed it and jimmy’d it and replaced the spring clip think but it just doesn’t work. It’s like it’s a half inch short or something?
What gives?
Is there some super secret secret to getting it to work? Any suggestions other than the...
I plan to use Durabak on my interior as they have a smooth option without texture. If it goes well I will use it on the exterior too. If not, I can get raptor liner in 685 desert tan on Amazon. Problem will be ordering enough, but not too much. So if anyone can give me an idea on quantities...
I know many of your cringe at the thought, but still.
For those of you who have painted a truck in bedliner:
- what brand did you use?
- how much material did you use?
- did you do a hard top and/or doors too?
- did you do inside as well? Again how much material etc.
- what prep did you do to...
Oh yea I was looking at Raptor brand. Or perhaps Durabak as they have a smooth option.
I was mainly asking about your prep - I’d love to just power wash the carc paint ha
I’d love to know if your “only power washing” method has held up over time?
Unfortunately it’s only the interior- I want to spray the whole exterior of my humvee
Are those the bungs that fill the - for lack of Better term - antenna wire holes??
I was hoping to fill those holes with an LED light and wire them for reverse lights but, I can’t find any the right size so, those bungs would be next best option.
I am welding the top to try and close up lots...
Some of it is more a welding application but I had thought of adhesives. I would have no idea what products to use tho. Or for example if body filler/Bondo could be used, or even fiberglass resin, to fill small gaps if pieces were just butted and bolted down
I cannot weld aluminum, so I called around to a few shops. One of the shops that can, thought that the Humvee had magnesium in the alloy? I have no idea- what’s the alloy they used on the body? I’m talking about the body itself and the top on my 1165.
Anything else special I should know...
Does anyone know who makes the tail lights with an integrated reverse light? And how it’s wired/switched on?
I’m looking for those, or some kind of 1.25” round light that will fit in the hole where the antenna mount normally is.
I have been told the OEM system is super expensive.
vintage air sells AC kits that can be retro fitted. I priced it once at 2000-2500 for a whole truck setup.
if you already have AC maybe insulating the truck would be the way to go.
Ok so I took it off like you suggested. Just so I am clear….
the top row of studs in 24v and the much smaller green bar below is the 24v ground?
the two posts on the left, where my hand is holding the wire, that is the 12v stuff? I don’t see a separate 12v grounding strip for that. And then...
A lot of the bolts on my truck are rusted. I was going to replace them before painting with either Hot dipped galvanized or the shiny zinc.
I know painting over galvanized is tricky, but what’s the best primer or pre-treatment??
some humvee frames Are galvanized so the military must have a...
