Yes I do. The scrapper had scrapped a bunch of M931 trucks at Camp Shelby. I was able to get about 8 or 9 of these tool boxes cheap. So I grabbed them. Sold a couple to a local pickup customer in the Summer. Used the 6 out of 7 for the 2 trucks. The M820 had a double tire carrier behind...
Didn't get her painted yet. However I have been adding some tool boxes in place of the 2 spare tires behind the cab. I got 3 of them mounted with the 4th going in tomorrow. I am using the tool boxes from the M931 trucks. Will have 2 on each side.
I am using rubber spacers between the...
I actually did that with my 12/24 volt battery charger at home. I installed a "Anderson connector" on the wire leads and made 2 cables with "Anderson connectors" on one end and either a NATO plug or clamps on the other end. That way I can charge my trucks using the NATO receptacle.
Well cooler weather is here! Installed some long M931 tool boxes on my truck in place of the spare tire carrier. The 395s do not fit in the original tire carrier so I keep it int he back of the truck for now. Here is a picture of the boxes.
If you are in the neighborhood stop by and say hi. We are at exit 80 I-12 about 45 miles from timntrucks. If anyone needs tires going north I have some 395/85R20's, 11.00 NDT and HMMWV tires for sale. Also have a M936 front winch.
That one might be mine. I have 1 listed for $399.99. I would take $100 off for Steelsoldiers members. Shipping is gonna be a killer all the way to WA from LA. Maybe need to use the SS transport system. You can use the cord with a smaller gen set if you cut off the unused end and attach...
Did your truck come with the power cord? It's a big heavy cord usually on a metal reel. It plugs into the outlet in the back of the truck outside under the breaker panel.
Yep the Emergency Kill lever on the 5 tons do not rest themselves by pushing the lever back in like on the Deuce. You have to go under the hood and reset it there.
This is for CUCV. My wipers had a problem slowing down too much. Ended up replacing the motor. New motor did not have washer pump. Found a universal washer bottle and pump assembly on AMAZON cheap. Check my thread on M1008 for details.
I would inspect the air compressor output for oil before you contaminate the air dryer again. Also inspect the air lines and air tanks to see if the oil has reached there. You may have quite a flushing to do to your air system depending how far the oil creep-ed.
Those rivets are called monobolts. You can find them from time to time on a well known auction site. I have both 3/16" and 1/4" diameter versions that I have been using for years.
Yep I had to do the same with mine. I thought that system would never prime! Make sure the batteries are fully charged and in good shape. They will get a workout priming the system.
On a side note: I added an inline electric fuel pump. Now each time I am waiting for the wait light to go...
People do things with rented cars that they may not do with their own vehicle. So I think the same would go if an emergency response person was driving my truck. If they don't have to maintain or repair it then they may take chances with it that the vehicle owner may not do.
