Lack of preparation on their part does not constitute an emergency on my part. Since most local gov't agencies can acquire MVs for free from Uncle Sugar (they get pick of the litter) I am not obligated to commit my vehicle for "emergency service" unless I feel like it. Since I have to pay for...
If you look at one on GOOGLE you can see that there is plenty of metal that can be removed from a bolster trailer. All you need is the bare frame. You can probably shorten the front extension too.
Juanprado has a shelter dolly sitting in my yard. Tires are like new. Really nice shape. I am sure he would give you a real good deal on it.
2nd idea: What about a bolster trailer?
Those hub caps are hard to remove. A flat sharp screwdriver and hammer to pop them out. Once you see the crown nut remove the cotter pin and back off the nut a bit. It is over torqued. Reinsert cotter pin once set correctly. You can add grease to the hub before closing.
If you want more...
Last week I finished the console installation. I ran (2) #6 wires from the front battery through a large hole in the firewall (next to the fuel filter). I also ran (3) #14 wires for the spot lights I installed on the brush-guard. The rubber plug in the firewall was too dry-rotted to reuse. I...
Yes it does have a remote control. I still do not get having it turned around 180 degrees. How would I see the radio then? The way I have it now I can easily see the front of the panel and reach any of the buttons comfortably. I am 100% satisfied with the completed center console as it...
Since last entry I managed to install the new drawer organizer. The dimensions were a perfect fit. I also installed the console into the truck. It fit nice and snug between the seat frame pieces. All I need to do now is slice into the wire leads coming from the console to activate the radio...
I got the bamboo drawer organizer tonight. Didn't like the fit! Hung off the back about an inch. Found another one on AMAZON.COM for $25 and ordered it. According to the dimensions it will fit nicely!
I used the non fitting drawer organizer to hold all my remote controls for the...
Talk to Juanprado, he has some G177 mounted on 5 ton rims stored at my place. I know he wants to sell them. He can deliver to the rally.
I got switches for 5 ton. (start switches, battery power switches, on-off switches and fan switches. I also have all the gauges in the instrument panel...
I got the metal lid cut, primed and painted. I attached a piece of 3/4" plywood (sized to fit in the opening of the console) to the metal lid piece with 4 flat-head wood screws. The 4 holes in the metal lid were counter-sunk to allow the screws to fit flush. Tomorrow I am receiving the bamboo...
I have some used MT and MT/R versions of these tires used in various conditions. PM if interested. I can take pictures and quote costs. juanprado can deliver depending on quantities.
I ordered a bamboo drawer organizer to use as the top of the center console. I decided to go with a drop in lid. I will use a piece of 3/4" plywood the size of the opening to the console. I will attach the plywood to a piece of sheetmetal that is 1-1/2" longer and wider than the opening. I...
Today I managed to install the radio/CD player, speakers, power outlets and fuse panel. I also drilled a 1-1/8" hole under the console and installed a 3/4" Romex connector. I will feed the external power wires through this opening. I also wired all the components and the fuse panel.
When...
